Go For It!
This is the last in a series of Woman to Woman Wednesdays. Each week, during the month of January, we have shared words of inspiration to help shed 2020 and embrace 2021.
In an earlier post, we asked our Woman to Woman community to share their inspirational mantras. This one quote: “I knew that if I waited for permission, I’d never receive my turn.” Congresswoman, Shirley Chisholm, submitted by Toni Collins really struck a chord.
As young children we are taught to be patient, stand in line and wait our turn. And, maybe subconsciously, we carry these same learnings into adulthood.
It’s never too late to flip the script and get yours. You don’t need a cosigner. Go for what you deserve!
Remember, Black History Month (which should be every day) begins on Monday.
BTW: Please reserve February 12th from 12 Noon -1:30 PM for our fireside chat on Black Love - and men are invited to this party! Details forthcoming.
(Woman to Woman is a place for Black women to connect and honor our feelings and ourselves. We are part of the We All Rise Together movement https://www.weallrisetogether.us/).
