India considering option to offer 50% pension for govt employees under NPS
Amid the raising demands from several states to restore the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), which provided guaranteed pensions to government employees, reports have emerged that the Central government is exploring the option to offer a guaranteed pension of around 50 percent of the last pay drawn to government employees under the National Pension System (NPS).
According to?Financial Express, the one option being considered is to offer guaranteed pension to government staff at around 50 percent of the last pay drawn under the NPS by tweaking the existing scheme without burdening the exchequer too much.

Freshers most wanted as hiring intent in India rises — skills and sectors to look out for
India Inc’s hiring intent seems to be headed for a marginal rise amid global layoffs. For the current half year (January-June 2023), hiring intent is estimated at 62 percent. This is an increase of 3 percent over the July–December 2022 period, according to the Career Outlook Report released by TeamLease Edtech , a unit of staffing company TeamLease Services Limited .
Hiring Intent is a measure of how likely #employers are to recruit fresh graduates. According to the report, employer intent is seen rising from 61 percent to 68 percent across all categories of jobseekers (freshers and veterans) in India over the same period.
Fewer layoffs anticipated in first half of 2023, but IT, senior roles to be most impacted: Survey
Recruiters in India are anticipating a decrease in layoffs in the first half of 2023, according to a survey conducted by job portal Naukri.com . The survey, which gathered insights from 1,400 recruiters and consultants across ten sectors, found that only 4 percent of respondents expected layoffs to be the dominant hiring activity in their organisations.
However, the survey also revealed that information technology roles and senior professionals will be the most impacted by hiring corrections.

According to a post on LinkedIn shared by an employee of Madhya Pradesh based IT company, SoftGrid Computers, employees get this message displayed on their system if they work beyond business hours.

Google layoffs begin in India over 450 employees impacted

Tesla fires dozens of employees day after Autopilot workers announced union campaign
US automotive firm Tesla is letting go of dozens of #employees, a Bloomberg report said on February 16, days after employees in New York launched a campaign to organise a union with Workers United Upstate New York.
Tesla is reportedly firing employees at its Buffalo, New York factory just a day after Autopilot workers announced their campaign, organizers told Bloomberg. The release posted on Twitter by the union on February 14 said, “We want Tesla to be the company we know it can be.”
“Our union will further Tesla’s principles and objectives, including by helping to serve as the conscience of the organization and by ensuring and deepening our culture of trust and respect,” it added.
