Go Green Campaign by World School, Salalah

Earth is the only place which we all share in common…beauteous and phenomenon reflection by Mr. Wendel Berry-an American environmentalist.

Valuing and believing in the same World School, Salalah Organized a “Go Green Campaign” in Ayn Razat on 18 June 2019 with the objective of communicating this fact that the Earth is under the threat from humanity.

Students of World School under the guidance of their mentors took this initiative to extend the awareness that this planet is our one and only home and we must care for it. They projected the same by performing a beautiful mime and song reflecting the beauty of the nature and how we humans are busy trying to recreate it. Furthermore, Students and parents enthusiastically took part in the rally highlighting the slogans followed by Saplings plantation drive- in collaboration with Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, Dhofar Governorate and our social partners Rotana club and Kairaba Mirbat Resort. The event was inaugurated by Dr Sanyo Moosa, Senior Lecturer Business Administration Department, College of Applied Sciences, Salalah. World School students evidently proved that their education is not limited to the four walls of the classrooms and within learning the laws, principals and formulas of Science and Math, rather they passionately stepped ahead to give themselves this opportunity to contribute a bit for making this Earth a better place to live. Our guest of honor Mr.Mohammed Awadh Ahmed Afrah Al Shanfari -General Directorate of the Environment and Climate affairs, Dhofar Governorate concluded the campaign by congratulating the World School for this drive and ambition. He motivated the students by his words of wisdom and embraced them for more such thought provoking and enlightening campaigns and events in the near future. The drive ended with soaring the World School flag high and by delivering an important message that Nature is our treasure, and it is our collective and individual responsibility to preserve and tend to the world in which we all live.
