Go With God - a constant inspiration

It's been three years since Go With God was shot during a chilling week in March. I hadn't anticipated the contingency fund being raided for two space heaters! Yet through tough times the cast and crew remained positive and determined to create a great film and indeed they did.

Go With God has been in over 17 film festivals, been seen in the worlds largest internet short film channel, and watched on Notts TV. It's success remains the foundation for the projects since then. 

The Beeston Film Festival was inspired by attending a screening of Go With God in Dublin. In a Dublin pub I saw magnificent international short films whilst supping Guiness to my hearts content. Three weeks later planning began for the first Beeston Film festival.

Last year I watched Jonathan Markwood, David Taylor in Go With God, perform in a Peckham theatre in a brilliant, visceral production of the Ragged Trousered Philanthropists. It had been a while since I had witnessed theatre up close and personal and it reminded me of the way the Edinburgh Fringe Festival felt 3o years ago. Now, with a element of insanity, plans are afoot for the Beeston Fringe Festival 2017. 

Sometimes a journey can be about following a pre-determined route on a map to a chosen end point, other times its about letting chance, inspiration, and a little risk-taking drive you forward to an undefined destination. The latter depends on putting faith into the talent of others. So I just want to thank again Frank Harriman, Jonathan Markwood, Jasmin Egner, Amir Rahimzadeh, Haqi Ali, Julian Boote, Catherine Dobson, and so many others involved with Go With God for being a constant inspiration and sending me off on a journey into the unknown.
