The Go-Go-Go life is a lie

The Go-Go-Go life is a lie

You get into your business with this passion for helping others with your talent and abilities. It's exhilarating.

You start out clear on your intentions, clear on the results you give. For example, when I started my insurance agency a few years ago, I was committed to helping people understand their coverage. I wanted to be that agent that stood out because I took the time to sit down with them, ask them all the questions I needed to understand their current situation and really help them see what they actually needed in their policy.

It was fun at first. And I followed through on that. In licensing I found out I knew NOTHING about insurance and what it really was. I started sharing what I thought I knew, and what it actually was. People understood, they related or had their own story to share of what it was and what it actually meant.

Then I had to started to have pressure with my numbers. I didn't have a system in place that x+y=z.

So I started by trying cold leads. I started to buy leads from the company and I asked around for lead sources other people were using. Didn't pay attention to my ROI just believed if I had leads, I'll have sales.

It wasn't enough. So I heard there was a way to create new leads, fresh leads that hadn't been picked over before. I started that program and I got leads, but again not much for end result of sales.

I bought into the "advise" I was given that it will take 3-5 years to make a profit. So I kept trying.

So I thought I had a closing problem. I started a couple programs to help me with closing. It was the increase your sales by ____X and hard sell this. You might have tried those too. By this time, I had lead gen and closing tactics. Along side that I had service work, appointments, and more training to complete on the actual products I was selling. It was chaos!!!

I kept telling myself, keep pushing forward. Keep moving forward! Though what I didn't want to face were my numbers were going backwards. But I was busier than ever.

It's that trap of doing things, but not doing the right things. Common among sales reps.

So, I started one more program. Sales Freedom. That sounded intriguing and I thought, what the heck, I've wasted $1000's already. The odd thing was, it was WAY more expensive than anything else I had tried. And with the other tactics, programs and sales training I had, I had to be convinced it was right. This one, I knew was right. It was odd, it was different. There was none of the sales BS involved.

It went back to the basics. To say it was easy, would be a lie. I had the thoughts, I already know this stuff.... and I did, but I wasn't living it. So I would go a day or two living the basics and seeing results and then I'd get pressure from the DM or my bank account and I'd revert back. Each time I did that, I delayed my progress by weeks. I couldn't take that new stance on my own.

I was so used to the quick fix tactics that I thought "This isn't working." I understood this was not a quick fix, and had to be constantly reminded. I refer to it as "getting caught in the chaos."

I had great support in the process. My coach, the other business owners learning and implementing the same process in their business and learning tools to stay consistent. Weird thing, none of were in the same industry, but it applied to us all. In Sales, complexity is created when you don't confront what's there. We had a support team to help confront it until we could do it on our own.

No more did I have to guess. No more did I have to try these things on my own. I had a person seeing things I didn't see. Calling me out and helping me wake up to the habits that were producing the inconsistency. Helping clarify and step back into integrity with my business, life and my commitment.

Now I am running into that same thing with business owners I am meeting. It's so common. I thought I was alone in the struggle. Knowing there's a simple way to sales, but not knowing how to do it. Living the chaotic life knowing there was another way, but not knowing where to go.

I love supporting people through this transformation. It's simple, not easy. It is not a quick fix. It helps you get back into the integrity with your business. It lays that foundation for long term results. It's intense. It's not for the faint of heart. It's for the people who have a business, want to see consistent $20k+/m in their business. It's for people who want freedom in their business/work life balance. It's for people who like to follow a system and go out and implement it. And be aware, in the first 30 days you won't see much of a change in your income. That comes days 45-90.

If that is you or someone you know. Let's set up a discovery call to see if we are a fit. I will be upfront with you if it doesn't work for your business. And I will expect that you start right away if it is right for your business. This isn't for "maybe" people because it's to produce results in 90 days or less. So you have to be ready to cut the chaos and focus on this core work.

Here is the link to our calendar Schedule Your Appointment. Set the call with me and I'll be in touch with you at the time you set.

What are you waiting to go away before you start living the life you desire? What will the next 3 months look like if you continue to operate the way you do?

Great article Becca Krakow! I have been there and the break free then I find myself there again. I also meet business owners who are stuck in that situation as well.
