Go All In...
This team, against all odss, captured that long awaited and much deserved glorious win! They sure did go "all in"! They believed! Not once, but twice on 4th down did our brilliant coach go all in! Not once on that field was this game about any one player! This is what this sport should always be about!
This win was for so many people! They bring the trophy home for Jerome Brown and so many other legends who watch from the really good seats in heaven and whose soul was, no doubt, in that stadium! That trophy is for the fans! For all of the fans who looked up to heaven thinking of their loved ones! Those who didn't get to see this in the flesh, but who felt the energy and no one needed an Uber! This win is for all the babies that will be named Carson over the next 4 years! This win was for all of our local football coaches that dedicate time, energy and effort to our future players! This win was for every Cowboys fan! Yes I said that! Some of my best friends are Cowboys fans and now I can say "we have a ring too"!
The world wanted us to win! I did not enjoy the machine that Brady and Gronkowski bring to the field, but I also can not deny the talent that this team brings to the game! They have raised the bar and let's face it, the world was sick of those colors! :) We rose to the challenge and gave the world, not only a brilliantly played game, but we also give this world hope!
When they say you can't, that's when you do! We did not deflate any balls or try to intercept play calls from the other side! We showed up! We showed up with a smile! Relaxed, but yet so ready! Confident and not cocky! We played as one solid team the entire year and tonight was no different!
The last quarter of the game I had to put my pretend headphones on so that not for one second would I hear any doubters! Maybe I had watched Elf so often I trust in the believe-o-meter! You have to believe! You have to block out the noise! You have to forget about that one bad play! As one of my favorite coaches once said, "Clear eyes, full heart, can't lose"! A man I adore, Kyle Chandler, oops, I mean Eric Taylor, the fictional character that truly represents a nation of human beings that are brought together through this sport! From our local organizations in the hopes that a seed is planted and in the process bring families and communities together!
I know that we all feel this love! Well, minus the people who have season tickets for the Patriots! Our city, no doubt, wanted and needed this win! But our county can always use a reminder that anything is possible! Risk vs. reward! Go all in! Whatever it takes! Burn the boats and not the bridges! You get it! We did it! Our "WTF" moment is for all the right reasons today!
Fly Eagles Fly, to back to back victories! "SP53" Can you hear our new fight song?
