Go-Ahead Singapore Appoints Leonard Lee as Managing Director

We’re pleased to announce that our current Engineering Director, Leonard Lee , will take the helm as Managing Director, effective 2 October. Leonard succeeds Andrew Thompson, who is taking up a new role with Go-Ahead Group in the UK.

With a 33-year career in public transport, Andrew brought his expertise to Singapore over four years ago. Under his leadership, Go-Ahead Singapore gained a reputation for innovation. Innovative initiatives including the Helping Hand scheme, the full installation of solar panels on buses, a cycling awareness session, and CARE Bus programme - to make Singapore’s public transport system better – were rolled out.

Leonard, a seasoned professional, has been at the forefront of innovation since our Singapore operations began in 2016. His achievements include launching Singapore's first solar panel-fitted buses, driving the adoption of digitalisation tools, and implementing an advanced real-time Vehicle Health Telematics system. In 2016, Go-Ahead Singapore trialled Singapore's first electric public bus, with Leonard playing a crucial role in its success.? Leonard also heads the ISO Quality and Sustainability Committees and has been instrumental in aligning our company's Green and Sustainable Plan with the Group's 2045 net-zero carbon commitment and Singapore's climate action goals.

This change in leadership follows a period of prolonged success for Go-Ahead Singapore. Currently, the company operates 440 buses on 31 routes across the island, boasting a commuter satisfaction score of over 90%.

As the new Managing Director of Go-Ahead Singapore, Leonard will work closely with the team to further strengthen our bus business in Singapore.
