“G’Mar Chatima Tova”

“G’Mar Chatima Tova”

All over the world, Jewish people will be disconnecting...and connecting...for the next 24 hours.

Why? Because it's Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

According to Judaism, this is the day that we come before God and ask for forgiveness for our transgressions.

BTW we had the last 10 days to ask our family, friends and colleagues for forgiveness.

Yom Kippur marks the final day when God conducts a final evaluation to decide if we are to be inscribed in the Book of Life.

Personally, I will be disconnecting from technology, phones and work...and instead connecting with my faith, my beliefs, my feelings, my purpose and my utility to others.

I will use Yom Kippur to plan for the year ahead and make it my mission to be a model to others, to help others and to make the world a better place over the next year.

10 days ago, we wished fellow Jews a Shana Tovah, a sweet year.

Today, on Yom Kippur, we say G’Mar Chatima Tova, wishing that we be inscribed in the Book of Life for good health and happiness in the next year.

I will be praying for all my family, friends and colleagues - Jewish and non-Jewish - and hoping for a sweet year and for a year of peace, harmony and purpose.
