?? New Gmail & Yahoo Sender Requirements: Are You Ready? ??"
Did you know Gmail and Yahoo are stepping up their game?
They're taking on spam and unwanted messages with new sender requirements.
As Marcel Becker from Yahoo! puts it, “A key mission of Yahoo is to deliver messages that consumers want to receive and filter out those they don't."
From February 2024, senders must meet these new standards. If not, they'll start seeing errors and even rejections.
For instance, if only 75% of a sender's traffic meets the requirements, the remaining 25% could face rejection.
Here are some actionable tips to ensure your mail gets through:
?? Understand the new requirements and implement changes ASAP.
?? Ensure your messages are compliant and meet the new standards.
?? Prepare for the one-click unsubscribe feature, coming in June 2024.
Are you prepared for these changes?
The best way to combat these problems is to go with an email provider like beehiiv so you won't run into these issues.
New to beehiiv?
Here's what you need to know.
As a content creator in the 21st century, I know one thing to be true…
Attention is the new oil, and learning to harness it will make or break your business within the coming months.
Right now, everyone’s focused on growing their following on LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube. However, there’s a new attention asset that’s been making a comeback in the last few years that I consider an untapped goldmine.
It will not only help you establish a loyal and engaged audience, but also holds the potential to generate substantial revenue.
What’s this mysterious goldmine?
Content newsletters.
These are newsletters that aim to provide valuable information in an entertaining way, while promoting a business on the backend.
For the last few years, content newsletters have become the world’s best-kept secret while quietly making business owners thousands and some millions.
For instance:
Whether you’re a business owner or a new entrepreneur, harnessing the potential of content newsletters will be a game-changer for you and your business (or future business).
As a newsletter owner myself , I’ve seen first hand the immense potential newsletters hold for businesses of all sizes. Specifically the Beehiiv platform — the one-stop shop for building a growing a newsletter.

Why Every Business Owner Should Build A Newsletter
As a business owner, your goal is to make money with as few distractions and extra work as possible. Good thing for you, building a content newsletter does just that.
Not only do newsletters hold the potential to become a profitable business by themselves, but they also serve as a powerful tool to amplify your existing business.
Here’s how content newsletters are game-changers for businesses:
1. Drives traffic to your business or product. Building a loyal fan base through newsletters often translates into increased sales as your subscribers are more likely to convert into customers.
2. Ownership of your audience: With social media, the platform’s algorithm chooses how many people it pushes your content to. Therefore, creators are not able to fully monetize what they’ve built. With newsletters, once you have subscribers they stay with you. No algorithm can take them away.
3. You don’t need a big team. Unlike many other business models that require expanding your team with your clientele, newsletters can often be managed effectively by just a handful of individuals. You can operate with a team of 3 with 100 subscribers, or 100,000.
4. Additional revenue stream. Newsletter owners make money by selling out sponsorships, affiliates, and charging for subscriptions. The newsletters themselves are also assets that can be sold for thousands (and even millions).
Are Newsletters Only For Business Owners?
It’s true, most newsletter owners have an additional business or plan to use their newsletter to launch a product. However, newsletters are not exclusive to business owners. Here are a few, and very popular, reasons why many non-business owners launch newsletters.
1. Passion project: For those who are not primarily driven by monetary goals, newsletters can be an enjoyable hobby or passion project. It’s a space where you can share your interests, knowledge, or experiences with an audience that appreciates your content.
2. Consistent side income. If you’re not looking to launch a full-scale business, newsletters can give you a consistent side income with just 500 subscribers. This could be through sponsorships, paid subscriptions, and a few Beehiiv tools which I mention below.
3. Building a community. Newsletters are a great way to meet people interested in the same ideas you are, and many lead to in-person events. You can use your newsletter to launch Facebook groups, slack channels, and even group Zoom calls.
4. Launching a Brand: By consistently delivering valuable content, you can establish a dedicated following and cultivate brand recognition. This initial engagement can pave the way for future monetization opportunities.
5. The newseltter can transform into a business: You may not start your newsletter solely to make money, but eventually, it can transform into a business. With the right content and audience engagement, newsletters also have the potential to expand into other satellite media businesses.
In essence, newsletters provide everyone from hobbyists to CEOs a platform to thrive in the attention economy of 2024. So, regardless of your goals, there’s a place for you in the world of newsletters.

There are many newsletter platforms that would be great for hosting your newsletter. However, none are as dedicated as Beehiiv to helping users scale their newsletters and monetize.
In the last year, Beehiiv has introduced several major updates that make growing and monetizing newsletters easier than ever before.
Here are the must-know Beehiiv updates from 2023 that you should be using in 2024.
1. Boosts
In early 2023, Beehiiv released what they call the “number one acquisition source for newsletters.” Essentially, it’s a Beehiiv program where you can pay other newsletters to promote yours to their subscribers, and you can get paid to promote theirs.
Since its release, reports show a 137% monthly growth rate for newsletters utilizing this feature and some newsletters are making thousands promotingWhat to know:
To say the least, Boosts has been a big hit in the Beehiiv newsletter community.
2. Beehiiv Ad Network
Once your newsletter crosses the 1,000-subscriber threshold, you become eligible to join the Beehiiv Ad Network. This network pairs your newsletter with premium brands based on your audience demographics.
Here’s how it works:
Beehiiv has brand deals with Masterworks, Upside, Morning Brew, and many other big names.
3. Beehiiv AI Release
In July 2023, Beehiiv became the first newsletter platform to introduce its own AI tools. These updates primarily focus on expediting your writing process and improving clarity. People buy what they understand. If they can’t understand your newsletter, they won’t buy your product
Key points:
Beehiiv is continually innovating and I can’t wait to see what new suite of AI tools we are in store for in 2024. These updates make Beehiiv stand out as the top platform for newsletter creators.
Which Beehiiv Plan Should You Choose?
Beehiiv offers four plans: Launch, Grow, Scale, and Enterprise. Each plan serves as a stepping stone, catering to different stages of newsletter growth.
Here’s a guide to choosing the one that fits you best.
Launch (FREE): Ideal for those starting a newsletter.
Especially for beginners looking to focus on organic growth via social media.
This plan gives you every tool you need to collect your first 2,500 subscribers and start to send newsletters. While customization options are limited, it allows beginners a chance to get used to the platform and understand the ropes of running a newsletter.
Grow ($49/month): For newsletters transitioning to Beehiiv.
With this plan, you can build up to 10,000 subscribers and have a custom domain, improving deliverability and professionalism.
However, I personally recommend using the Scale plan. This is because there is a small difference in price and you will have access to significantly more features like Boosts and the Beehiiv Ad Network.
Scale ($99/month): This is for established newsletters with over 2,500 subscribers.
It encompasses all features of Launch and Grow, along with access to Boosts, the Ad program, AI tools, and premium subscriptions.
This is where substantial growth usually occurs. Most Beehiiv newsletters operate with this plan.
Enterprise (VARIES): Tailored for newsletters with over 70,000 subscribers looking to host multiple publications. You will need to talk with a team member to upgrade to this plan.
The Best Price in Town
As far as pricing goes, Beehiiv sticks out from other newsletters by offering a fixed monthly price. Most newsletters charge based on subscriber count and/or email frequency.
However, Beehiiv’s price structure is more cost-effective as there is no penalty for growth.
How To Get Started With Beehiiv
Now that you know which plan to use, let’s talk about how to start on Beehiiv.
Optimize Your Landing Page: Your landing page is where readers subscribe to your newsletter.
To design your landing page, find the menu bar on the left of your Beehiiv dashboard. Then, go to Settings > Publication > General. There, you will see a few options to design your landing page.
Ensure it’s visually appealing and user-friendly to maximize conversions. Once your landing page is set up, copy the URL link to direct readers to subscribe.
Find Subscribers: If you do not already have a subscriber base, you can get your first subscribers by:
As you grow, I recommend utilizing all three channels.
Send your first draft: With subscribers onboard, start creating engaging content that provides value to your audience. Personally, I do not recommend promoting your business until you’ve established a good cadence with them.
Build a team: Once you have a consistent content schedule and are making money, it’s time to start building a team. This will not only lessen the workload but will also help you turn your newsletter into a self-sufficient asset.
February is just around the corner.
