Difference-makers.?

We’re searching for difference-makers in our lives.

We’re constantly bombarded by marketing, overstimulated by screens of all sizes, and generally overwhelmed at the myriad of choices available to us. But, this is the exact reason we go back to the tried-and-true businesses and people that live up to our expectations and provide a quality experience.

My family has a favorite local pizza restaurant that we frequent. It’s an incredibly consistent dining experience, very clean, and you expect a certain level of treatment and quality of food that is always met. It makes the difference.

The fleet world and auto industry are no different. We know our customers have no shortage of options flying at them from all angles, and yet, they are loyal and consistently come back to GM Fleet.

Why? How do we position ourselves as difference-makers?

We have the best people.

First and foremost, our team is full of high-character, high-motor individuals, and that’s not by accident. Our team is relentlessly focused on building our relationships with customers and working with them to find the best solutions to their needs. I’m constantly energized by the passion I see in every interaction with our customers.

People who know me know I’m an enthusiastic person. My enthusiasm is genuine and truly authentic, and it’s how I approach leading and building my team. I surround myself with the best people, and they make me better at my job and push me to be the best version of myself. Ultimately, this is how our customers win.?

We tell the truth.

It’s no secret the auto industry is navigating a tough period. Between the pandemic and chip shortages, oftentimes demand is far outweighing supply. You need vehicles to keep your businesses running, and your employees working. We get it.

There have been many a tough conversation with customers over the last two years. The ?news was not always good, but I can say confidently that it was always delivered honestly. Customers never have to question if GM is doing everything in our power to provide them the best solutions and working our tails off on their behalf. I’m not afraid to be on those calls with our customers and our teams, because I’m not going to ask anyone to do anything that I am not willing to do myself.

We lead with transparency, and as I’ve been told by more than one customer, that is a true GM Fleet difference.

We keep the customers at the center of everything.

We’re about building long-lasting relationships. Our contact with our customers doesn’t end when the vehicle is delivered, our goal is to be your first and only choice for any of your fleet needs.?

When I tell our customers we are only a phone call away (or a text or email…), I mean it. We have Fleet Account Executives out there that will pick up calls from customers at 1:00 AM without hesitation (looking at you, Jay Ferraro)! We know we set the bar high.

Each customer interaction, conversation, email exchange, text message, presents us with opportunities for defining moments. Without hesitation, we value each and every interaction we have with our amazing customers. Our focus is winning those defining moments.

For instance, we know that one of the most important things to customers is the safety of their drivers. We’ve listened and managed to add a ton of safety features to lower-level trims on all our vehicles. When it’s important to our customers, it’s important to us.?

I totally agree with Ed when it comes to Jay Ferraro. Most professional GM Fleet rep I've ever dealt with and I started at Pape in 74.
