Amazon rolls out AI-powered image generation to help advertisers deliver a better ad experience for customers

Advertising has always been part art and part science—and the art part is about to get a whole lot easier.

Data science, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) have led to major advances in the efficiency of digital advertising over the last two decades. Yet in a March 2023 survey, Amazon found that among advertisers who were unable to build successful campaigns, nearly 75% cited building ad creatives and choosing a creative format as their biggest challenges.

“Producing engaging and differentiated creatives can increase cost and often requires introducing additional expertise into the advertising process,” said Colleen Aubrey, senior vice president of Amazon Ads Products and Technology.

Amazon announces first coalition to combat fake reviews globally

Amazon, Booking, Expedia Group, Glassdoor, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot have announced that they are joining forces to establish the first Global Trustworthy Reviews Coalition.

This joint effort, the result of a conference in San Francisco organized by Tripadvisor in October of last year, is aimed primarily at safeguarding the availability of trusted customer reviews worldwide.

Members of this alliance will work together to define best practices in publishing online reviews and share strategies for detecting and combating fake reviews.

??Amazon announces the launch of Amazon.co.za in South Africa in 2024

Amazon announced that it will launch Amazon.co.za in 2024, providing South African-based sellers the ability to reach customers across the country starting next year.

More than 60% of sales in Amazon’s store are from independent sellers—most of which are small and medium-sized businesses—providing a vast selection of products, competitive prices, and great convenience for consumers. Starting October 17, 2023, independent sellers in South Africa can register their businesses on sell.amazon.com/south-africa.
