GLOWING AND GROWING WITH GOD

I had the wonderful privilege of visiting the #OurDailyBreadMinistries in Singapore this morning to learn more about the volunteer opportunities.?"#Glow and #Grow" was running through my head as I was listening to the briefing.?
I started forming words and meanings with the word GLOW, and finally came out with;
G – God, L – Learning, O – Opportunities and W – Work.
In Colossians 3: 23-24, the bible says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”?Nothing is too small or insignificant for Him, regardless of the job we do, the roles we play, or the obligations we share.
Volunteering is very important in society.?Many self-sustaining help organisations rely on donations and are managed by a lean team of full-time staff.?Volunteers also come from many diverse backgrounds and talents that provide a variety of unique and crucial supporting tasks.
So, why am I volunteering at #OurDailyBreadMinistries??People frequently ask how do I find the time to contribute to the various organisations out there, while managing my own business, being a breast cancer survivor, a bereaved mother, and a very hands-on mother to my surviving son.

To begin, #God is my CEO, and everything my hands touch, everything my eyes see, everything my ears hear, everywhere my feet walk, and everything my voice speaks, are all answerable to my divine #Boss.?God never considers anything small or insignificant behind closed doors.?In reality, He blesses us with the satisfaction of seeing someone happy, and the joy of serving others in the volunteering work we do.
Second, volunteering for the Lord allows me to #learn new skills for free!?I would never have had the opportunity to work with animals, read stories to young children, or teach young women in emotional regulation if I had not volunteered with a charity.?These experiences have helped me "sharpen my saw" in order to become better at what I enjoy doing.
Third, meeting new people from various walks of life who are like-minded, generous, kind, and caring has been motivating, encouraging, and uplifting. Volunteers are generally optimistic and compassionate, and hearing their various stories of courage has inspired me to keep doing what I love. Without these volunteering #opportunities, I may not have met these wonderful individuals.
Finally, "real #work" includes volunteering.?Not only are we representing the organisation in which we volunteer, but also conducting real work such as calling clients, selling merchandise, promoting the cause, writing articles, creating content and visuals, providing office administration, project management or consulting expertise.?These are all efforts that are commonly found in corporations as well.
I hurriedly took a selfie as I walked out of the #OurDailyBreadMinistries office to remind myself that all work done for God is never in vain.?And no matter what happens, as long as we keep #glowing and #growing for God, we will always find meaning and purpose in our lives.
