Glow In The Dark
I know about losing countless friends to #cancer.
And today is #Halloween… That one day out of the year from which I’d like to extract the core theme, and plant it at the heart of every other day:
Pain and darkness are to be celebrated. For that is how we win a life filled with light.
Halloween is a day of pure irony.
A dramatic, splattered, gory and hilarious reminder that our very cells will be rewarded when we bring voice to our ignored aspects, our misguided intentions, and all the unspokens that make us sick, when left in the stuffed position.
It’s a day to find the art in the darker side of life. And in so doing, to find our wellness.
To my many friends who have been taken by cancer in its various forms, from the empowered Aurilla and Karen and my two Sarahs, who helped me unleash my true power, to my filmmaking collaborator Joe, to a dear friend's wife just earlier this year… may wherever you all are now feel like glitter in the sun, and all those moments when you couldn’t stop smiling…
In the words of Twenty One Pilots:
“If you could get me a drink
Of water
‘Cause my lips
Are chapped and faded
Call my aunt Marie
Help her gather all my things
And bury me in all my favorite colors
My sisters and my brothers, still
I will not kiss you
'Cause the hardest part of this
Is leaving you”
May we all arrive tonight at a pleasant face over the scarier side of being #alive.
Let’s celebrate the madness. And free ourselves.
Love, Sherry ????
