Global WarNing
The overview of greenhouse gas emission in 2018 is the following.
81% ?????Carbon Dioxide.
10% ?????Methane
7% ????????Nitrous oxide.
3% ????????Fluorinated gases.
These gasses are generated in the following manner.
?
Carbon Dioxide ??????????- ???Generated through fossil fuel combustion, cement production
Methane ??????????????????????- ???Generated through fossil fuels, agriculture and landfills
Nitrous oxide ??????????????-????Synthetic fertilisers, fossil fuel & biomass combustion & industry
Chloro-fluorocarbons ???-??Produced in refrigeration.
Hydro fluorocarbons ?????-??Produced in refrigeration
Sulphur Hexa-fluoride ??-??Produced in electrical transmission
Nitrogen trifluoride ???????- ?Generated in semi-conductor manufacturing
The composition of the atmosphere.
78% Nitrogen
21% Oxygen
0.9% Argon
0.039% Carbon dioxide
Total composition is 99.939%
Other greenhouses gases are approximately 0.000213% of the atmosphere
Total composition of atmosphere including all notable greenhouse gases are 99.939213%
Current greenhouse (approximate) gas composition in atmosphere 0.039213%
Post-industrial greenhouse gas composition (Year 1750) ex. water vapor was 0.0278993%
The greenhouse gas escalation has therefore increased by 28.85%
This figure would appear to be alarming!
?
A dominant greenhouse gas is water vapour.
This has not been incorporated into the above calculation.
Water vapour can vary from 0% at the poles to 4% in the tropics.
Average water vapour in the air is 2%.
Therefore, the total (current) greenhouse gases are ± 2.039213%.
Total post-industrial greenhouse gas was (±) 2.027899%
This is an increase of 0.56%.
Much less alarming?
The water vapor and greenhouse gases vary.
They vary from area, to area.
Differ with latitude, seasonal temperature changes, industrial development.
Size of cities, trade winds and many other factors.
Water vapour will consist of over 98% of all greenhouse gases.
Two characteristics of atmospheric gasses determine the strength of its greenhouse effect.
1.??????The ability to absorb energy and radiate it.
2.??????The gasses atmospheric lifetime
The above characteristics has been incorporated into a Global Warming Potential. (GWP)
The gas strength in the greenhouse effect of each unit of gas (by weight) is determined.
This is determined by scientist, who could be pro or against Global warming.
This is already a problem…
?
The GWP is over a specific period of time. It is adjusted.
Is expressed RELATIVE to the radiative effect of CO2.
Can be calculated over any time period as long as it is consistent with the other gasses.
The GWP of most greenhouse gases appear below.
Water vapour ??????????????????= ???????????0.1
Carbon dioxide ???????????????=???????????1 ????????????????????????(100-year life)
Methane ??????????????????????????=??????????25????????????????????????(12-years)
Nitrous oxide???????????????????=??????????265??????????????????????(121)
CFC-12 ???????????????????????????=??????????10?200?????????????????(100)?????
HFC-23????????????????????????????=??????????12?400?????????????????(222)
Sulphur Hexafluoride???? =??????????23?500?????????????????(3200)
Nitrogen Tetra Fluoride ?=??????????16?100?????????????????(500)
If percentage of gas volumes are multiplied their GWP.
An indicative figure is obtained.
These figures would indicate which gases are the biggest contributors to Global warming.
Post-industrial and current figures have been compared.
? Post???? Current?????Difference???% increase of total Post
Water Vapour total GWM 9.857?????? 9.801??????? ?-0.056???????????-0.50%
Carbon dioxide total GWM?? 1.424????? 1.910 ???? ????0.486?????????? 4.25%
Nit. oxide & fluorides GWM????0.161???????0.630???????????? 0.469?????????? 4.01%
Total???????????????????????????????????? 11.442?????12.341????????????0.899??????????7.86%
To conclude from the data reported
1.??????The major greenhouse gas at over 2% in the atmosphere on average is water vapour.
2.??????Water vapour will typically consist of over 98% of all greenhouse gases.
3.??????The next major greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide at 0.039%
4.??????The “apparent” post-industrial content of CO2 was 0.0278%
5.??????From the year 1750, CO2 gas levels have increased by around 40%.
6.??????This increase of CO2 has resulted in a total increase in total GWP by 4.25%
7.??????Levels of “other” green house gases are small in comparison with carbon dioxide.
8.??????Although these levels are small, their GWP is high.
9.??????As their GWP is high their warming potential is (almost) as high as CO2.
Furthermore, it was apparent that there is a relationship between water vapour & CO2 in air.
Information was obtained on this relationship.
According to Principia Scientific International.
“Science confirmed that a mixture of carbon dioxide & water vapour cooled the earth’s atmosphere.”
This finding had been published in November 20, 2013. It had been determined from the article:
“Determining the total emissivity of a mixture of gases containing overlapping absorption bands”
At the same time satellite observation have observed an increase in water vapor by 0.41kg/m2per decade since 1988. The cause as discussed by Santer 2007 was modelled by various Climate Models was the increase of CO2.
Which leads ultimately to the reason for the article.
There has been an escalation in “global warming” reportable incident.
These incidents are highlighted by the Media.
In particular, high volume of rainfall over short periods of time.
Indication of super saturation of air.
It is believed the escalations has been quick.
This though could be a perception created by a Media that has its own agenda.
The first suspect is of course the man-made volume of greenhouse gases.
Especially carbon emission, though, as apparent from this article there is a particular danger with fluorides gases. As fluorinated gases have a longer-life span in the atmosphere.
It must be noted that we continue to create fluorinated gases.
It is believed though that there are other factors that are contributing to the problem.
The entire problem is not being addressed, being realised or are being ignored.
Our population on this planet continues to expand.
Man is constantly developing technology that will invariably influence our world & radiates heat.
There is a radio waves and microwaves (Communications) development scramble.
This scramble is to improve capacity and speed.
The latest being 5G, where operating frequencies are between 28 and 39GHz.
Man has his own particular infrared wavelength signature.
All these items heat up the atmosphere day and night.
24-Hours a day, 365 days a year.
As we develop along man’s time line, our ability to heat the atmosphere increases.
It is felt that as technology develops, as industry scrambles to lower carbon dioxide emissions.
We may regret, or our children will curse us in not resolving a problem that I believe is not ONLY greenhouse gas related.
Ultimately it is a world that groans and cries out as she struggles to sustain a dominant life form that cares little for her. No decisions are made that have not been tainted by the touch of greed and corruption.
