Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics Organising Committee has partnered with the Italian Rectors’ Conference (CRUI) Foundation for Italian Universities, to provide training and internship opportunities for students. It is hoped that the partnership will enable students to combine sporting activities with studying. Students from participating universities will also have to chance to join the Milan Cortina 2026 volunteering programme.

The third annual edition of the Sustainable Circuits Index, from the Sustainable Motorsport Index family of indices, has revealed that Mugello is once again the leading motorsport circuit, in terms of sustainability. The Italian facility was briefly replaced by the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last year. Mugello’s continued focus on improving sustainability measures both at an operational and strategic level, as well as enhancements in its public disclosures, have aided its return to the top of the Index.

Electric racing series Formula E and UNICEF have revealed that their partnership has benefited more than 2.5 million children and young people since it began in 2021. Through investment in UNICEF’s climate programmes, as part of the Safe and Healthy Environment Fund, the collaboration has helped to create safe, clean and sustainable environments for children to live in. This is done by ensuring services that children rely on, such as education and healthcare, are resilient and that young people are empowered through knowledge to take climate action.

The North American Indigenous Games came to a subdued close in Nova Scotia on Saturday July 22nd, after inclement weather and historic flooding forced several major events to be cancelled. The closing ceremony and concert at the Halifax Common that was planned for Friday evening were cancelled due to a severe thunderstorm. Organizers announced Saturday morning that the cultural village at the Common, a popular gathering place during the Games, and cultural sites on the Halifax waterfront and in Dartmouth Crossing were closed because of the rain.
