Global Sustainable Sport announces strategic partnership with Green Sports Alliance and further workshops in the GSSport24 Winter Workshop Series.

7th October 2024

?

The Green Sports Alliance (the Alliance) and Global Sustainable Sport (GSS) have signed a strategic partnership with the aim of accelerating sustainability efforts through the global sports industry.

This collaboration unites two of the leading organisations in sports and sustainability with a shared commitment to advance environmental and social responsibility through sport globally.

With this new partnership, the Alliance and GSS will work together to help promote collective action and drive sustainable practices across all levels of sport, from grassroots to elite organisations.

By leveraging each other’s expertise and networks, the organisations will promote sustainability initiatives, best practices, and education in sporting events, facilities, and operations worldwide.

GSS’s Winter Workshop series will start on October 17th and will run until 28th November 2024 and will consist of 7 weekly workshops, all based on Global Sustainable Sport's 7 Sustainable Pillars of sport.

Adding to the programme will be Enovation Consulting’s Dr Cristiana Pace, Founder and Director, and Caroline Carlin, Head of Clients and Sustainability. They will lead Workshop 5 – Power focusing the discussion on the role of "Power" in driving sustainability in motorsport. Subjects covered willl include indices, accountability, certifications, standards, best practice and measurement. They will be joined by representatives from the motorsport industry working to develop better practices around sport and sustainability.

Workshop 2 – Participation will be led by industry veteran Chris Robb, CEO and Founder of Mass Participation World. Session 1 of Workshop 2 will focus on the power of mass participation to create a new commercial model for the sport through the 7 Sustainable Pillars of sport. As the business model for mass participation events continues to evolve Chris will look at how thinking about sustainability in a broader sense, beyond just environmental, can create new opportunities for race directors and host cities.

Registration for the Winter Workshop Series is now open and is available to GSS Network Alliance members.?

If you are a not-for-profit organisation you can apply for free membership of the alliance which will provide you with free access to the workshops.
