South African Rand was traded at 18.9000 against the dollar ZAR=D3, about 0.3% stronger than its previous close. XM

Nigeria: The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) released several guidelines including:

1. The removal of any spread on interbank foreign exchange transactions and restrictions on the sale of interbank proceeds. Authorized Dealers are to continue to conduct their transactions on a "Willing Buyer and Willing Seller" basis. CBN
2. The directive to banks is to henceforth payout Personal Travel Allowance (PTA) and Business Travel Allowance (BTA) through electronic channels only, including debit or credit cards. The payment of PTA/BTA by cash is no longer permitted. CBN
3. The cessation of daily CRR debits and the introduction of an updated Cash Reserve Requirement (CRR) mechanism,? meant to facilitate the capacity for planning, monitoring, and aligning records. CBN
