Katherina Gyolai of Apple Valley, Minnesota, has launched"Find Love Safely," a specialized matchmaking service designed for people with intellectual disabilities. Inspired by her son Nicolas Diaz's desire to date and concerns about online safety, Gyolai developed this platform that includes matchmaking services and coaching videos on social cues. The service has already shown promising results, with plans to expand across major U.S. cities.
Bumble Inc. is discontinuing two of its acquired relationship apps: Fruitz (a French Gen-Z dating app) and Official (a relationship-strengthening platform). This decision comes as the company faces financial headwinds, with shares declining over 27% after disappointing Q1 forecasts and overall revenue dropping 4.4%. As part of this restructuring, founder Whitney Wolfe Herd returned as CEO in March to lead a strategic reset, focusing on the company's core platforms, Bumble and Badoo.
