Leadership movements this week

• Indigo hires a first foreign Chief Executive Officer, Pieter Elbers, who will succeed Ronojoy Dutta (71-year-old) when he retires. Elbers was overseeing KLM airlines through the Covid pandemic and was appointed their CEO in 2014.

• B Govindarajan has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer Of Royal Enfield. Govindarajan was serving as the Executive Director of the brand since August last year, and before that, he was the Chief Operating Officer since 2013.

• JCPenney appointed John Aylward as chief marketing officer (CMO), effective June 6, 2022. JCPenney is the shopping destination for diverse, working American families. Aylward is said to lead the marketing strategy, creative, visual merchandising and store design, and customer engagement teams. Prior to this, he was working for CARE, the global nonprofit dedicated to ending poverty, where he served as CMO for five years.

• Sujoy Dutta has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of UCO Bank with immediate effect. Dutta was serving as the deputy general manager at the company. He will replace Shashi Kant Kumar, general manager of the bank.

• Rohit Anand will take over as the Chief Financial Officer at Tech Mahindra from Milind Kulkarni, effective June 1. This move is due to the retirement of Milind Kulkarni from the position on May 31. Rohit has been working with the company for the last 1.5 years as the global business head.

• Ocwen Financial Corporation, a leading non-bank mortgage servicer and originator, appointed Sean O'Neil as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective June 13, 2022. He will be responsible for leading the Company’s global finance organization. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer at Bayview Asset Management, LLC, since 2015.

• The real estate sector of Sharjah Asset Management (SAM) has appointed Shaikh Saud Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi as their Chief Executive Officer, overlooking vital assets such as Souq Al Jubail, Souq Al Haraj and Al Saja'a Industrial Oasis. The organisation is focusing on the importance and necessity of continuing to qualify, train and refine the expertise of national leaders, stressing the percentage of Emiratisation within the leadership level in SAM.
