Global KOL Influence Mapping: Latest Innovations to Measure Peer Influence

In biopharma, Key Opinion Leaders are thought to be those experts in the disease who have very significant scientific activity. At Adnexi, we track this activity, processing massive data on publications, clinical trials, NIH grants, payments from biopharma, speaking activity and more, and producing complete profiles.

However, just because a KOL has had a ton of scientific activity, does not mean that their peers find this person currently influential. And those KOLs that are most influential can significantly accelerate drug development and launch.

A new method was needed to prioritize KOLs, and this is why we developed Adnexi Influence Mapping, a solution to uncover the peer-to-peer influence of KOLs across the globe. I feel like the industry is not putting enough weight on a KOL’s social presence. If they have a following on social, it’s often a more valuable criteria than other attributes like speaking experience or publications. They bring an existing and trusted audience.
