My name is Reena Chandra Rajpal and I am the President and Executive Director of Combat Blindness International. It is the greatest honor of my life to carry on my father’s legacy and to serve humanity. With this blog, I intend to share with you the journey of combating blindness, spreading awareness, and seeking collaboration for working together to impact people’s vision.

Not many people are aware of the fact that 90% of vision loss is preventable.?

Yes, it is just that preventable.

37 years ago, my father, Dr. Suresh Chandra, started Combat Blindness International (CBI). Knowing these facts, he felt compelled to do something and today CBI, a non-profit organization, is completely devoted to alleviating preventable blindness worldwide by providing sustainable, equitable solutions for sight through partnerships and innovation.

At CBI, for as little as $25, a 20-minute surgery can restore a person’s vision within 24 hours.

And, that is transformational.
