Without voting, the 193-member organ adopted the resolution "Improving global road safety" (document A/78/L.78), which urged Member States and relevant actors to accelerate and scale up efforts to implement the Global Plan, making road safety a political priority and ensuring its relevance in the broader sustainable development agenda.

The International Road Federation wants no GST on helmets to make them more affordable

In a statement, the IRF stated that two-wheeler riders are the most susceptible during road accidents and that decreasing GST rates on helmets will help make helmets more accessible to the general public in light of rising road accident deaths.

The International Bridge, Tunnel, and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) has inaugurated the first Global Road Safety Week, which ran until June 28th, with a focus on "little choices" that may make a difference.
