Global Game Jam 2023 | Bossa Games

Recently Bossa participated in the Global Game Jam. Global Game Jam is a nonprofit that allows game developers and creators to come together and create and share their concepts in a welcoming environment.?

Ten years ago this year one of Bossa’s most successful titles to date, Surgeon Simulator, was initially developed in a 48 hour period for the 2013 Global Game Jam before being fleshed out into a full game.

The theme of this year's Global Game Jam was “Roots”.

Some of Bossa’s developers met up in-person at Goldsmiths, University of London to work on their entry.

They came up with Oogroots, here’s the synopsis:

All humans are gone yet a magical plant called the Oog survives. All it wants to do is spread its roots and reclaim this world. Take control of this magical plant and guide the little Oogroots towards the glowing energy source whilst avoiding all the hazards that come with a post-apocalyptic environment.

Well done to all the developers who participated, there were some really creative concepts that emerged from this year’s Global Game Jam and it’s great to see so much talent on display in our industry!
