Rupen Pandya provided a memorable quote " The Energy transition is a profound moment for economic reconciliation" and the trend with the most impact on how we produce power for the future. Jonathan Huntington spoke of Cameco many initiatives to address the challenges in skills, labour shortages, education and supply chain development and indicated the need for government to work alongside business and the labour community in Canada -this is a whole of society responsibility. The panel was deftly moderated by Sheldon Wuttunee who led all the panelists through a discussion of the important opportunity Canada has ahead to play a global role in the energy transition. Heather spoke of how GE helps power 30% of the world electricity and helping our customers grow renewables and nuclear as quickly as possible, as well as decarbonize our world leading gas fleet. Decarbonizing gas turbines needs the supply of low carbon fuel such as hydrogen and also carbon capture. We are starting our journey to take important first steps and we are grateful for the partnership of Paul-Emile A. McNab at the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business as well as David Acco and others who are providing careful guidance on our path forward.
