BizStreet India and Maxgrowth Consulting, UAE jointly hosted Global E-Summit in collaboration with United National Global Sustainability Index Institute (UNGSII), Brahma Kumaris and SS Sujalaam Suphalaam Foundation. With the over arching theme of “Planet & Profits can coexist”, this event was launched by Rishabh Kumar Sawansukha, Founder BizStreet and SS Sujalaam Suphalaam foundation, joined by participants from 25+ countries including United Kingdom, Africa region, UAE, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Hongkong, Bangkok.

Keynote speech by BK Sister Jayanti Kirpalani Ji, who made the gathering aware of 5 Pillars of Sustainable development, i.e. People, Planet, Peace, Prosperity and Partnership. She heads the SDG initiatives worldwide representing Brahma Kumaris, an international NGO with presence in 137+ Countries.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang made a presentation as Guest of Honor about how Sikkim as a state is leading the world as lighthouse for achieving sustainability goals. He stressed upon the key focus on 3 things for Sikkim’s development as 100% organic state, Environment, Social well-being and Economic viability. He endorsed the fact that planet and profits can co-exist, and Sikkim has proved it many times.

Panel Discussion was led by Mayank Sawhney and participated by leading global financial and SDG experts from various part of the world like Vienna, Zurich, Frankfurt, Washington, Gurugram and Dubai.
Mr. Roland Schatz, Founder, UNGSII Foundation, Vienna, Austria, a 5th Generation Journalist stressed upon the need to realize the value of SDGs by truly following them in our daily actions, financial reporting and board meetings. He emphasized that future of branding, ability to raise funding and get recognized by changed consumer behaviour of millennials is through following SDGs only. He showed how SDG debit card can reap the benefits for people contributing towards Carbon credit generation and focus upon tracking tree plantation in a well-co-ordinated manner to leverage Carbon Farming.

Mr. Anis Asghar, Chief Investment Officer, UNGSII Foundation, London, UK presented theme behind SCR500 Index and mentioned that many leading Indian companies are already appearing in this global index of sustainability. He mentioned that by launching SCR100 or SCR300 index for India, UNGSII can provide opportunity for Indian companies, big or small to get the global recognition, partnership and access to green funding. He assured his full support if listed or even unlisted Indian companies want to come up with tangible and measurable projects to meet SDGs.

Mr. Alfred III Berkeley, Former President Nasdaq, Washington DC, USA shared his experience that how US stock markets , portfolio investors, family offices and private equity players have started giving more preference to invest in companies or businesses which are meeting Sustainability goals and doing better with higher SDG ratings. He hinted towards global shift in reporting parameters because post pandemic, investor outlook has become more holistic towards planet and profits.

Ms. Antje Biber, Member of the Managing Board FERI, Frankfurt, Germany, responsible for managing 40 Billion Euro of funds and advising for 300 Billion Euro, talked about how family offices and ultra HNI investors are now looking at impact investment. She told that it is not just compliance or tax issue, but it is large issue towards looking at the sustainable projects. She says that lot can be done in public -private partnership by connecting funds with the successful projects on ground meeting SDGs.

Ms. Lucia E. Wurmli, COO, Africa Capital, Zurich, Switzerland is managing CSR initiatives for last 2 decades for world’s richest family office and Bank. She maintained the commitment of supporting SDGs is responsibility of all and world has realized that capitalism failed to achieve sustainability in past 6-7 decades. It is time to transform, innovate and take holistic view towards SDG projects, which can improve their profitability significantly. Arrogance must go when investing in CSR activities, which corporates have missed the powerful moves at large and can get amnesty by working towards achieving SDG goals without arguing against them.

Mr. ML Mantoo, Founder Ladakh Farmers & Producers Cooperative Limited & SS Sujalaam Suphalaam Foundation, India, a veteran in Integrated wastelands and rural development for last 40+ years, shared his vision to develop One million & more hectares of degraded wastelands in integrated manner. He presented the comprehensive funding plan, Indian government agenda and community participation in his unique model of development to create 20 million new jobs and meet all of 17 goals with a minimum project size of 1000 Hectares. He presented how in wastelands of Ladakh he successfully launched community farming projects and developed India’s largest Apple, Apricot orchard and trials were made successfully with world’s best quality saffron in Barron land of village Rambirpura supporting 219 families of Tribals. He said that with Brahma Kumaris thinking of partnering with SS Sujalaam Suphalaam for training and skill development in 500+ districts, he is open for global green funds to become part of the massive transformation and carbon sequestering by planting several Billion Trees.

Mr. Vimal Shah, Chairman BIDCO Africa invited integrated wasteland development experts to replicate Indian distributed ownership model of Mr. ML Mantoo into Africa region where world’s 60% barren lands are lying. He appreciated the efforts by organizers in bringing the expertise, investor, spiritual and political leaders in one room to deliberate on this very important topic. Being 3rd Generation entrepreneur, his organization is actively associated with Agriculture and Floriculture in Africa region.

Ms. Sharmila Oswal, Chairman JITO ladies wing congratulated organizers for conducting such a useful event and wished to provide full support of Digital Women Warriors, a group of 70000 women being empowered with technology to transform the world sustainably. She is water diplomat and actively working in Farm Advocacy, agreed to work on Sikkim and Ladakh.
