1. Amazon's upcoming AI platform awaits showdown with OpenAI and Bard
Amazon is currently in the process of developing a new artificial intelligence model, internally referred to as "Olympus," with the strategic aim of remaining competitive with industry counterparts such as OpenAI and Google. The technology and e-commerce giant envisions the integration of this sophisticated language model not only within its online retail platform but also across the widespread usage of Alexa smart speakers, as elucidated in a detailed report by The Information.
Anticipated to be publicly disclosed potentially as early as December, the introduction of the Olympus model underscores Amazon's deliberate entry into the competitive landscape of artificial intelligence. This strategic move is in alignment with Amazon's commitment to maintaining a prominent position in the forefront of technological advancements, exemplified by a substantial $4 billion investment in the AI startup Anthropic, a noteworthy announcement made in September (Carter, 2023).
Meta aims to enhance user convenience by introducing a new feature that enables the integration of Facebook and Instagram accounts with Amazon, facilitating in-app purchases directly from the social media platforms. This innovative feature allows users to seamlessly shop Amazon's ads on Facebook and Instagram without exiting the respective apps. An Amazon spokesperson highlighted the significance of this integration, stating that, "For the first time, customers will be able to shop Amazon’s Facebook and Instagram ads and check out with Amazon without leaving the social media apps." This integration offers customers in the United States access to real-time pricing, Prime eligibility information, delivery estimates, and product details for select Amazon product advertisements within the Facebook and Instagram apps, thereby creating a streamlined and integrated shopping ex?prience (Vanian, 2023).

During the testing phase, Aidge welcomes software as a service (SaaS) partners and independent service providers (ISVs) to refine its application suite. With over 15 APIs supporting 18 languages, Aidge promises to create a significant market, facilitating smooth transactions and eliminating language barriers (VTV, 2023).

GPT-4 Turbo stands as the newest AI version, delivering responses based on data up to April 2023, surpassing previous versions that were last updated in January 2022. With the capability to process input lengths of up to 300 pages, users can now request comprehensive summaries of entire books. Furthermore, GPT-4 Turbo supports image processing and text-to-speech conversion, leveraging technology from DALL-E 3. Noteworthy is the cost efficiency, with input and output tokens being three and two times cheaper, respectively, compared to GPT-4. This economic advantage significantly aids businesses and developers in substantial cost savings when deploying extensive information on this advanced AI model (Field, 2023).
