Sales and Credit Intelligence vendor Global Database had a “stick to the knitting” 2024, focusing on expanded global content coverage and its connectors. Its registered company database spans 250 million companies with significant growth in Canada and Eastern Europe.
Canadian coverage was sourced from provincial registries and spans 11 million active and inactive companies, much more than most vendors. Canadian registry data is thin, but Global Database has matched it against mined web data to provide richer profiles.
Central and Eastern Europe also saw significant growth:
“The Baltic region is a rapidly growing economic hub, with diverse industries and a thriving startup ecosystem,” blogged CEO Nicolae Buldumac . “Our expanded database gives you the tools to identify untapped opportunities and connect with potential partners, customers, or investors.”
The company also extended its DACH coverage to 700,000 Austrian and five million German companies.
“We’ve also finally integrated data for Germany (5 million companies) directly from the main registry, including daily updates such as company general data, full financials, directors / shareholders, and group structures. This was the most difficult jurisdiction because of its complexities,” explained Buldumac to GZ Consulting . “All of this registry data is enriched with firmographics, including websites, business descriptions, social media links, industry tags, technologies used, and contact data.”
Global Database also expanded its country coverage, adding nearly one hundred island nations and African and Middle Eastern countries last year. When including inactive companies, which are important for data cleansing and KYC/AML purposes, their dataset spans a half billion companies.
Global Database also added public (quoted) company data for 70,000 global listed companies. The data, collected directly by Global Database, includes financials, shareholders, and tickers. Most Sales Intelligence vendors, except D&B Hoovers, lack deep public company coverage.
Global Database also released a Salesforce connector, with a HubSpot connector going live later this month.
Due to the breadth of its registry data, Buldumac did not see a conflict with HubSpot-owned Clearbit . Global Database gathers a deep set of global registered filings, including linkages, ownership, registration and Tax IDs, legal forms, directorships, and financials. It then expands its registered profiles with mined data.
The Salesforce connector starts at $5K per company per year and supports prospecting, data enrichment, custom field mapping, and stare-and-compare updates.

Another new feature is a global unified search that allows users to input keywords and retrieve equivalent matches across multiple industry codes, including NACE, ISIC, local SIC codes, general industry classifications, and industry tags. This feature is particularly valuable as companies are classified differently across jurisdictions. This broader taxonomic search also differentiates Global Database from most Sales Intelligence vendors that only support SIC and NAICS codes or proprietary industry taxonomies (again, the primary exception is D&B Hoovers).
Buldumac also provided a coming attractions statement.
“In Q1, we are in the process of adding more registry data and enriching the existing dataset with full company financials. We have started working on mapping the data and linking directors/shareholders with other companies cross-border, as we are placed in a unique position because we have the raw registry data aggregated, mapped, translated, with automated updates.”
The firm will also deploy GenAI to improve its credit risk scoring and company profiles.
“We will use LLMs to enrich our company profiles, give more insights, and identify any risks or opportunities for companies you follow. With the help of LLMs, we have started to create our proprietary credit score and credit limit recommendations for companies, by giving them the information we already gathered and enriched. So far, the results exceed the accuracy we have seen on the market for such data, and now this model needs to be applied for a larger dataset.”
Global Database is coming off a strong 2024, with growth in its database, expanded functionality, and a 70% year-over-year growth in corporate customers. The firm also enjoys “good traction” for its Pay-as-You-Go monthly plans in the UK, Ireland, Italy, and Singapore.
