Cyber crime is GLOBAL and co-ordinated and well funded ( $7 Trillion going into the coffers of cyber criminals in the last year ? ).

When you are a well funded criminal you can afford the best talent and you can develop attack strategies quickly and keep changing your strategies to take advantage of particular macro or micro situations eg the Pandemic or local business funding

Governments in general can't react quickly enough to well funded entrepreneur crooks on a clear mission.

In the Cyber Security world we talk about People, Processes, Technology and Leadership.

In the Global Cyber Security world there is a Cyber Security aspect and a Legal aspect.

We can use People, Processes and Technology under the correct Leadership to find the hackers. However once found we have to arrest them and prosecute them successfully which means we need the right laws and evidence for example. There also needs to be global legal cooperation.

There actually needs to be a Centre like the CDC ( for Pandemic ) or NASA ( for Asteroid attack ) for Cyber Security.

Let's call it the Global Cyber Security Centre for now shall we ?

It is going to monitor all the attacks globally and warn people ( like we are warned about disease, asteroids, earthquakes, tidal waves etc etc )

If it is doing its job then businesses will be saved. Like lives are saved.

The $7 Trillion will be reduced to some much lower number and we will have Cyber Attack Teams that are proactive in terms of getting to the source of the problem - ie criminals developing malware and stealing data and personal information.

We have to communicate better. The old approaches of Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt ( F.U.D. ) selling and " Caregiver " ( being nice, educating etc ) don't actually work that well.

We need to speak to people and companies globally in a way that makes them alert to the dangers and gets them to take action.

We need to communicate better, globally.
