When Samuel James Adcock and I started The Ortus Club, we weren't just starting a business; we were embarking on a mission to transform the landscape of executive networking. Our backgrounds couldn't have been more different—I had developed a marketing obsession while working in publishing, while Sam came from engineering and found himself deep-diving into outreach methods and data analytics. It was this unique combination that sparked the idea of what The Ortus Club - Executive Knowledge Sharing would become. Nearly a decade later, we reflect on our mission.

How We Started and Our Founding Mission

We noticed a gap in B2B networking events for more meaningful, pitch-free executive dialogues. Too often, business leaders were being subjected to events that felt more like extended sales pitches than genuine opportunities for knowledge sharing and connection. We knew there had to be a more genuine way to build connections, and we set out to create it.

Our vision was clear from the start: to become the most strategic executive dialogue curator in the world. We wanted to create a space where leaders could engage in impactful conversations, free from the pressures of sales agendas or corporate posturing. It was an ambitious goal, but one we were determined to see through.

As I look back on our journey, the numbers we've achieved are both humbling and exhilarating. We've hosted over 2,122 virtual and in-person knowledge-sharing roundtables and masterclasses. That's more than 2,000 opportunities for executives to connect, share insights, and grow together.?

But it hasn't been just about the quantity of events—the quality of guests and discussion has been improving year on year. More than 27,190 decision-makers have participated in our events worldwide. These aren't just any business professionals; these are C-suite executives, directors, VPs, key decision-makers from some of the world's most influential companies.

What's been particularly interesting has been the diversity we’ve been exposed to as well in both ethnicities, gender, and industry. From intimate roundtables to larger masterclasses and virtual alternatives, we've adapted our format to suit the needs of different audiences and discussion topics throughout the years. Whether it was a deep dive into the future of fintech or a broader discussion on leadership in the digital age, we've created spaces for all types of executive dialogues.

Ortus events have taken place in over 132 countries, spanning North & South America, Europe, APAC, and Africa. From there, we've expanded not just geographically but linguistically, too. Our discussions were hosted in Japanese, German, French, Italian, Korean, Dutch, Spanish, and more. This international exposure has allowed us to facilitate cross-cultural dialogues and global networking opportunities that are truly unique in the business world.

These numbers aren't just statistics to us. Each event represents countless connections made, ideas shared, and potential partnerships formed. They're proof of the power of our mission and the resonance it has found in the global business community.

I still vividly remember our first gathering at Sydney's Park Hyatt. The energy in the room was palpable, the conversation and the format captured the interest of our attendees, and we knew we were onto something special.?

As we celebrate nearly a decade of sparking conversations and fuelling executive connections, we've earned our place as a trusted partner for prominent names across industries. We've hosted for the creative industry with companies like Superside , facilitating discussions on the evolving landscape of design and creative services in the era of AI. Our cybersecurity conversations, in collaboration with companies like CloudSEK and Crowdstrike, have created a space for security experts to share insights on emerging threats, discuss best practices, and explore the future of digital security.?

We’re particularly curious to explore how this knowledge-sharing format could be applied to new industries that could benefit from this approach on executive dialogue. We're constantly looking for sectors where meaningful conversations surrounding pressing topics such as sustainability, digital transformation, and evolving consumer behaviour can drive significant change.?
