Khasm Edge Enterprise Network (KEEN): Revolutionizing Operations at Washington United Terminals
The Khasm Edge Enterprise Network (KEEN) is our latest breakthrough in edge computing and network innovation, showcased at Washington United Terminals. This bustling 123-acre container terminal processes around 10,000 containers weekly, demanding uninterrupted and high-speed communication to sustain seamless operations. The solution at Washington United Terminals demonstrates how KEEN brings transformative power and connectivity to complex environments.

“Clear communication is everything,” explains Zachary Thomas, COO at Washington United Terminals, Inc. With a need for clear, direct communication across the site, any lapse in connectivity can result in operational delays and financial losses. Recognizing this, we designed KEEN as a robust, cloud-native network solution that scales easily from a few access points to a sprawling, enterprise-level deployment. It seamlessly integrates into existing IT infrastructure, enabling flexible, rapid connectivity without external dependencies.
Equipped with edge computing capabilities, KEEN empowers operations to run data-intensive tasks right at the edge. This includes AI-driven processes like anomaly and object detection, powered by KEEN’s edge AI capabilities developed in collaboration with Sensorz , which processes and monitors data on-site, ensuring real-time performance and service assurance.
As Scott, our CTO puts it: “KEEN goes beyond being a simple network; it’s an edge platform capable of supporting mission-critical applications. It can operate underground, in remote warehouses, and in other demanding environments with minimal setup.”
"We are already deploying startup applications directly into their work environment, demonstrating KEEN’s potential as a launchpad for innovation,” adds Kurt Steck, Managing Partner. KEEN is a testament to our commitment to delivering forward-thinking, scalable edge solutions that drive enterprise success.
We have some exciting use cases that we can't wait to share with you in upcoming newsletters.
