Global Cleveland's Monthly Update
Welcome Center Opening
On February 14th, Global Cleveland attended the opening of the Cuyahoga County Welcome Center. This center is designed to help international newcomers access resources and thrive upon their arrival in Northeast Ohio. Our team is proud to work with our peers at the?center in order to provide our resources and services to the international community.
United for Ukraine Concert
St. Ambrose Parish and Global Cleveland partnered to host United for Ukraine: Two Years of Resilience. A free dinner and concert was held to recognize the second anniversary of the beginning of the war in Ukraine.?
Laurel School Supports Ukrainians
A group of eighth graders from Laurel learned about Ukrainian newcomers in the Cleveland area through reading and research, a panel discussion with Global Cleveland's Anastasia Lakhtikova, and a visit to the Ukraine Museum and Archives. Dr. Lakhtikova connected the group with a Ukrainian family and they conducted a drive to help that family meet some of their material needs. Students then visited the family to deliver supplies and help extend a warm welcome.
Congratulations to Global Cleveland Board Members Mayor Annette Blackwell and Mark Owens on their respective awards from Future History Makers and iIrish! Global Cleveland is proud to have you serving on our Board of Directors.
