I am not a big fan of companies that commercialize events and have become event management companies. But I prefer to host a 'Community of Practitioners in Digital Health' if we see a compelling reason to do so. After a big gap of more than a decade, I have decided to host the Global Digital Health Summit, Expo & Innovation Awards with people who have transformed Healthcare. The idea behind this summit is to let the world see what is happening and what will happen in the immediate future and let us try to bring the future into the present. Also, in this age of multi-modal AI, the changes are happening every quarter. It is time for the global leaders to meet once a year and share what we should be doing to stay relevant to healthcare, and hence, the Global Digital Health Summit.
In 2011, as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Telemedicine Society of India , I hosted the biggest telemedicine conference ever hosted in India with the then Chief Technology Officer of the United States and assistant to the U.S. President, Aneesh Chopra ; Lord Nigel Crisp, former CEO of NHS, & Permanent Secretary of Health U.K. & Member, House of Lords; Dr. Prathap Reddy, Chairman of Apollo hospitals; Mr. Sachin Pilot, the Union Minister of IT at the Government of India and leaders from 32 countries. Those who attended the summit can testify about its impact across geographies.
Summits should be about gathering the world's best minds and change-makers at the grassroots, so we have the best mix of inspiration, knowledge, and networks of people who can transform Healthcare. We need to fast-track healthcare with digital health.
This year, we are taking the Global Digital Health Summit to a different level (https://www.globalsummit.health/?), and it will change how you will work in Healthcare, that much I can promise. You will meet global movers and shakers visiting India for the first time, and it is a rare honor to meet them and learn from them. We have adopted a unique format: while they speak from the main stage and take questions, these global leaders will also do a master class with you (a closed-door interaction with about 30 people for 60-90 minutes) so that people can have a freewheeling discussion. About ten global leaders are going to be hosting master-class sessions. We will open the registration soon for that.
