GLOBAL BUSINESS MOBILITY VISAS
The global business mobility visas are for existing overseas workers who work in the overseas business with a presence in the United Kingdom and who desire to either desire to enter or remain in the United Kingdom for work purposes. Currently, there are five visas under these routes. These are the service supplier visa, secondment worker visa, graduate trainee visa, UK expansion worker visa and senior or specialist worker visa. There are certain requirements that the applicants under the global business mobility route need to meet.
All these visas are for those overseas workers who need to undertake temporary work assignments in the United Kingdom. The senior or specialist Worker is for those overseas workers who need to be either a senior manager or specialist employee and should be assigned to a United Kingdom business linked to their employer overseas. The graduate trainee visa is for those overseas workers who are on a graduate training programme leading to either a senior management or specialist position and are required to do a work placement in the United Kingdom.
The UK expansion worker visa is for those overseas workers who are either senior managers or specialist employees and must be assigned to the United Kingdom to undertake work related to a business’s expansion to the UK. The service supplier visa is for those overseas workers who are either contractual service suppliers employed by an overseas service provider or a self-employed independent professional based overseas. The secondment worker visa is for those overseas workers who are being seconded to the United Kingdom as part of a high-value contract or investment by their employer overseas.
?The applicants require to have a sponsorship certificate issued by the sponsor license holder. The sponsor license holder is usually the employer in the United Kingdom. The application should be made within 3 months from the date of assigning the sponsorship certificate. All the applicants are required to be above 18 years of age at the time of making the application. Applicants making an application for visas under the global business mobility route should be applying to fill a genuine vacancy.

If the job being sponsored is a sham, does not exist in the organisation or was created especially for the purpose of getting permission for the applicant to come to the United Kingdom then the visa will be refused. It is also necessary that the applicants should have been either working for the sponsor or the business linked with the sponsor. These applicants should have worked for the sponsor or the business linked with the sponsor for a reasonable amount of time overseas. The applicant’s under the global business mobility visas should be paid the required level of salary acceptable for that job and as per the prevalent standards.
Applications for the visas under the global business mobility visas cannot be made if the applicants are currently in the United Kingdom on visas such as a visitor’s visa, seasonal worker visa, domestic worker visa, short-term visa and so on. However, there could be discretion to grant the visa switch application exercised by the caseworker.
