Airlines and airports worldwide are facing significant disruptions due to the CrowdStrike system update, causing delays and stoppages that are also affecting cargo transport. Ita Airways reported major global IT system disruptions resulting in significant delays and cancellations. Despite using backup solutions to keep systems operational, the airline had to cancel 60 flights.
Af-Klm Cargo reported significant impacts at Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam airports, while Lufthansa noted disruptions at Frankfurt and Munich. American Airlines Cargo restored operations after a technical issue affected multiple carriers. Cargolux, although not directly affected, experienced impacts on some services and advised customers to contact them for quotes, booking requests, and updates.
Cma Cgm stated it was not directly affected, but it is likely to experience indirect consequences. Scan Global Logistics anticipated bottlenecks and delays, while Flexport is gathering information from its partners to verify any impacts.
