Together with Professor Anming Zhang, president of the Air Transport Research Society, we have published the paper “Global Airport Resilience Index: Towards a comprehensive understanding of air transportation resilience” in Transportation Research Part D. GARI is a novel resilience assessment tool which integrates air-side networks, ground infrastructure, and population data, allowing to assess airport disruptions and their global impact with realism and precision. We believe that our study provides novel insights into air transportation and airport resilience, by consideration of the most realistic resilience estimation measure to date.
