Namdhari Seeds Acquires US Agriseeds Open Field Vegetable Seed Business
Namdhari Seeds Private Limited has acquired the open field vegetable seed business of US Agriseeds from Axia Vegetable Seeds. This acquisition expands Namdhari Seeds’ operations and product portfolio. The acquisition includes a range of vegetable crops such as tomatoes, peppers, melons, watermelons, cucumbers, squash, and eggplant. Namdhari Seeds will enhance its presence in North America, South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. This acquisition does not include the US Agri Seeds brand in India (and Asia), which operates separately and is not part of this transaction.

NABARD and Palladium’s Export Pathshala Empowers Odisha’s Farmer Producer Organizations
?The three-day Export Pathshala workshop, aimed at enhancing agri and allied exports through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), successfully concluded. Organized by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in collaboration with Palladium Consulting India Private Limited (PCIPL), the workshop provided FPOs with critical insights and strategies to scale their businesses globally. The initiative convened policymakers, financial institutions, exporters, farmer producer organizations and supporting organizations to explore opportunities and solutions for strengthening India’s agri-export ecosystem. By equipping FPOs with expertise in export procedures, quality compliance, and market linkages, the workshop is set to enhance Odisha’s competitiveness in global markets for fruits, vegetables, and spices.

VST Tillers Tractors Ltd reported 29% growth in Q3 Revenue
?VST Tillers Tractors Limited (VST), India’s leading farm equipment manufacturer, today announced their financial results for the quarter and nine month ended Dec 31, 2024.

For the third Quarter, VST achieved the turnover of Rs 219.10 Cr, up of 29% from Rs 169.96 Cr in the Third quarter of last year. The operational EBIDTA is 19.55 Cr, up of 104% from 9.54 Cr in the Third quarter of last year.? The profit before taxes is Rs 3.84 Cr, down by 81% against Rs 20.33 Cr in the same period of the previous year in the Third quarter. The drop in profit before tax in Q3 is due to mark-to-market losses on investments of Rs 11.04 crores as against Rs 15.42 Cr profit in the Q3 of last year.

Dragon Fruit Now on e-NAM, Govt Adds 10 New Commodities for Trade
?To meet the growing demand from farmers, traders, and other stakeholders, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has expanded the scope of trade under the e-NAM platform. This decision aims to boost digital trading opportunities for the agricultural sector, providing a wider range of commodities for trade. The Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI) has now formulated tradable parameters for 10 additional agricultural commodities, further enhancing the efficiency and inclusivity of the platform. The parameters have been finalized after extensive consultations with state agencies, traders, subject matter specialists, and the Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC), with approval from the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
