1.?#Essar partners with CII Business Summit 2024

#Essar was proud to partner with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as platinum sponsors for their Business Summit 2024. Essar's senior management engaged in discussions on the role businesses could play in co-creating the future responsibly.

Haseeb Drabu, Advisor at Essar, joined the panel discussion on ’Financing New Age Businesses’. He highlighted that new-age businesses are driven by a modern mind-set and value systems, transcending traditional sector boundaries. He emphasised that even conventional industries like steel can innovate by adopting principles such as decarbonisation, decentralisation, and digitalisation, exemplified by green steel.

In another session, Bhuwan Chandra Tripathi, Advisor at EET, emphasised the vital role of energy transition for energy independence at a plenary session on ’Net Zero India: Opportunities and Challenges for Indian Industry’. He pointed out that strong government support and a focus on renewable sources like solar and wind, combined with technological innovation, are paving the way for a sustainable future. Key areas of focus include affordability, energy storage, green hydrogen, and carbon capture.

2.?GreenLine celebrates one year of decarbonising heavy trucking

Essar's GreenLine proudly marked its first anniversary of driving environmental sustainability in heavy trucking. Over the past year, GreenLine’s dedicated fleet of 350+ LNG trucks has served six key industries, covering an impressive 12.8 million kilometres. This remarkable journey has reduced over 4,005 tonnes of carbon emissions, equivalent to the carbon absorption of 160,214 trees. By spanning three-quarters of India, GreenLine is making a significant impact in turning the country green and promoting a cleaner future. Here's to another year of pioneering efforts in decarbonising heavy trucking.?

3.?EET commemorates the 100th anniversary of its Stanlow Refinery

EET celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Stanlow Refinery, a vital component of the UK's energy landscape since its inception in 1924. The commemoration, spanning several months, honours Stanlow's enduring contribution to the Cheshire community and the nation's economic growth.

Under Essar's stewardship since 2011, Stanlow has evolved into a key national asset, processing over 20,000 litres of crude every minute and employing over 700 people directly, with an additional 700 in the local supply chain. The refinery remains a significant contributor to the regional economy and offers opportunities for graduate and apprenticeship programs.

Looking ahead, EET Fuels is committed to driving Stanlow's transformation into the UK's first low-carbon refinery, investing $3 billion in low-carbon energy transition projects over the next five years. Under the EET initiative, Stanlow aims to set a precedent for sustainable growth and employment opportunities in the region while advancing the UK's transition to a lower-carbon economy.

4. Gujarat continues to remain at the heart of Essar’s growth narrative!

In the dynamic landscape of Gujarat, Essar emerges as a symbol of progressive investments and strategic partnerships, dedicated to steering the state’s growth trajectory. Over the last four decades, Essar has built an investment portfolio exceeding ?1,00,000 crore, crafting world-class assets that deeply resonate with Gujarat’s industrious spirit.

Gujarat continues to remain at the heart of Essar’s growth narrative, with its investments in core industrial projects enhancing the state’s industrial landscape, serving as a testimony to Gujarat’s potential as an investment destination. Looking forward, Essar aims to invest ?55,000 crore in sustainable enterprises focused on energy transition, power, and port infrastructure.

5. Black Box unveils Hyperscale Data Center of Excellence in Minnesota

Black Box, a global leader in innovative communication and technology solutions, proudly announced the grand opening of its Hyper-scale Data Centre of Excellence (DCoE) in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. This facility represents a significant investment in the future of data center infrastructure, enabling Black Box to deliver unparalleled service and support to hyperscale data centers across the region.

Similarly, Avantika Kaushik, a graduate engineer trainee at EOGEPL, shares her exciting transition from academia to the professional world. As a reservoir engineer in the subsurface department, Avantika dives into the multidisciplinary nature of her work, encompassing geology, geophysics, and reservoir engineering.
