A Glimpse Into My Optimized Ideal Work Week
I'm excited to share a special entry from my journal with you today.
Below, you'll find an exact word-for-word, image-for-image copy of my journal entry from Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
This entry provides a detailed look at the most recently optimized version of my Ideal Work Week.
I believe transparency in our processes and routines can be incredibly enlightening, and I hope you find inspiration in the adjustments I've made to enhance productivity and personal growth.
This morning, I got up at 4am. I listened to Creating Lasting Change by Tony Robbins (Day 9) on the drive to the gym. There are always so many “new insights” I pick up each time through.
Once at the gym, instead of immediately pulling out my laptop or iPad to read, study, or journal, I decided to meditate first, rather than just before heading into the gym for my workout.
Now it’s 6:15 AM and I’m working from my MacBook Pro. Even though T-Mobile has texted me that I’ve used my allotted 5GB of Mobile HotSpot and it’s going to limit me to 600kbps for the remainder of my billing cycle (until 5/26/24), I’m still getting 71.45 Mbps down and 20.46 Mbps up. I’m very thankful for this!
My Morning Routine on Wednesdays
Today is the first day of my “new” Ideal Work Week Schedule. However, there is still one tweak that I will want to make. That tweak will be to get rid of Wednesday appointments between The Green Room and NLCP. Both today and next week, I have a podcast interview scheduled at 1pm. The week after that, I have a hair appointment at the same time. Ideally, I’d like to reserve from 1pm to 2:30pm for a long nap or, at the very least, a period of relaxation or restoration on Wednesdays.
Obviously, I can make it a point not to schedule any more podcast interviews on Wednesdays moving forward. I have already booked several hair appointments on Wednesdays for the next three months, through August 14th.
I’m considering asking Shayna if I can reschedule the appointments for the following months to another day of the week for June, July, and August. I’ll decide based on how the next few weeks go.
Once these calls between Green Room and NLCP are removed, my Wednesday schedule will look like the following:
This means that, even on Wednesdays, I will still have a solid 5 hours of “Flow State Time” to start my day.
Notice that I added some detail on “timing” for gym routine. For everything to run smoothly on Wednesdays, I will….
As I mentioned, I plan to continue optimizing my Wednesdays, and it’s likely that I’ll incorporate a significant nap before NLCP in the near future.

My Morning Routine the Rest of The Week
The image above shows that I’ve adjusted my “Flow State Time” on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday to be from 4am to 12pm. That’s 8 HOURS of FLOW STATE TIME four days a week.
I am excited about this change! Moving forward, except for rare and unavoidable exceptions, I won’t accept any scheduled appointments before 12pm on these four days.
I’ve moved my weekly podcast with Daphne to 1pm on Mondays. This still leaves me with the potential for up to seven coaching slots. However, I have an idea to convert one of these slots into the time that I will allocate for another weekly group coaching program that I plan to launch.
Another change I’m implementing is prioritizing my 3:30pm slots. I will only allow 1pm slots to be filled once all 3:30pm slots have been booked.
If I fully implement the planned new standards and changes, I might only need these few slots at 3:30pm moving forward.
What will I do with all that Flow State Time?
The short answer is ANYTHING I FEEL INSPIRED TO DO! With a MINIMUM of EIGHT HOURS during these four days of the week, the possibilities are limitless.
I will obviously have ample time for meditation, reading, studying/note-taking, journaling, and strategic planning.
The best part is that I’ll have what feels like an endless amount of time for consistent content creation and relationship building.
I plan to take at least an hour-long nap before any scheduled afternoon calls on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Waking up at 4am has become a rejuvenating routine for me. I usually go to bed around 8 or 9pm. I average anywhere from six to eight hours of sleep each night. Additionally, I enjoy a 60 to 90-minute nap each day.
The implementation of this brand new, updated, ideal work week will mark the beginning of an exciting new season of personal and professional growth. Building upon all that I’ve already learned and experienced so far, I am very excited for what is about to happen in the coming weeks, months, and years ahead.
Closing Summary:
As we continuously strive for personal and professional growth, refining our routines can significantly impact our productivity and well-being. Here are some key takeaways that I hope will come from sharing my optimized work week:
I hope these insights encourage you to examine and refine your own routines to better suit your aspirations and lifestyle.

Cliff
