A Glimpse into My July: Balancing Business, Personal Achievements, and Unexpected Challenges
As we move into August, it's a perfect time to reflect on the past month—both the triumphs and the challenges. July was a month brimming with business achievements, personal milestones, and a few unexpected twists.
Join me as I share my journey through the past month, offering insights and reflections that might resonate with your own experiences.
??Business Highlights
??Empowering Business Owners: In July, I had the pleasure of delivering a 3-hour coaching session at our monthly Business Mastermind to small business owners. The focus was on creating a deep level of self-awareness, and understanding where we choose to live our lives — from a place of fear and scarcity or from abundance and possibility.
The insights in the room were palpable, with participants realising they have the power to live the life they want rather than the life they feel they have to. Armed with tools and resources they ended the session excited for what they can both influence and create!
??Podcast Progress: This month, I continued my commitment to again featuring podcast guests, where I aim to host one guest per month. Time constraints are always a challenge, but the value shared in our conversations is undeniable.

I was also in conversation with my client Javier Buzon , whose episode will be published in September. Here's a sneak peek of what Javier shared:

?Everyone is in Sales: Regardless of your role, the ability to sell—ideas, projects, yourself—is crucial.
?Balancing Humility with Ambition: Humility, coupled with drive, is a winning combination for career advancement.
?Mental Preparation and Self-Awareness: These traits are essential for effective leadership.
??Professional Accreditation: Following an intensive two-week training in June for my Enneagram Practitioner Accreditation with Integrative Enneagram Solutions, I've now begun working on my case study. Whilst this is a huge investment of time and effort, there is immense value from this to be brought to my clients including teams - Enhanced Self-Awareness, Improved Leadership Skills & Team Dynamics, Strategic Career Planning, Personal Branding and Networking, and Resilience and Stress Management.
??Referrals and New Clients: Referrals continue to be a significant source of new clients in July. Each new client brings a unique set of challenges and goals, and it's always rewarding to help them navigate their career paths.
I also welcomed a new 1:1 client into my practice who is eager to elevate her leadership style and skills as she steps into a new role, recognising that her biggest area of focus is on the inner work (psychology and mindset) as that is perhaps the key area hindering her advancement. Her ambition and drive are inspiring, and I'm excited to support her journey.

??Personal Highlights
Unexpected Travel: An unexpected trip to the United States mid-month followed the passing of my aunt. While it was a sombre occasion, it provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with family and pay respects. The last-minute change of plans to attend a funeral reminded me of the importance of gratitude. I'm thankful for the means and ability to travel at a moment's notice to support family during tough times.
Health and Wellness: Maintaining my health plan remained a priority in July, with continued focus on nutrition, exercise, and improving sleep. I was proud of my ability to stick to my plan approx. 80% whilst travelling abroad too, which required me to dig deep during a challenging time! July wasn't without its challenges. I faced a minor flu upon returning from the US, a reminder of the toll travel can take on health. Fortunately, I recovered quickly.
Planned SkyDive: My planned skydive has been rescheduled for late September due to the US Trip. I'm thrilled to share that I've raised 71% of my goal so far, and there's still an opportunity to sponsor me here: LINK https://www.justgiving.com/page/leila-singh-skydive
22 years on...Our Annual Cricket Tradition: July also featured our Electronic Data Systems annual day out at Lords for an international cricket match. It was fantastic to see Jimmy Anderson play his last test and catch up with former colleagues - our biggest meetup since the pandemic!
Social meetups: A delightful dinner with my friend and former colleague was another personal highlight, and given both our hectic schedules, we still seem to manage a quarterly in-person meetup. Catching up over good food and conversation always brings me joy and reflection.
Family Moments: I cherished watching my stepson in his school play as he completed his final year before heading to grammar school in Autumn. We also enjoyed a weekend in London, which included several firsts for him—a a 20/20 cricket match at the Oval with England Women smashing it out against New Zealand, an excellent steak at Hawksmoor , and a ride in a London Black Cab.
??Reflections and Insights
July has been a month of growth, both personally and professionally. The experiences and challenges have reinforced several key insights:
??Adaptability is Crucial: Whether in business or personal life, the ability to adapt and respond to unexpected changes is invaluable.
??The Importance of Self-Care: Maintaining health and wellness is essential, especially when faced with demanding schedules and unforeseen events.
??Value of Relationships: Building and maintaining strong relationships—whether with clients, colleagues, or family—is fundamental to success and happiness.
??Continuous Learning: Embracing opportunities for learning and growth, even when they push you out of your comfort zone, leads to personal and professional development.
As we move forward into August, I encourage you to reflect on your own journey over the past month:
