Our "12" Day Hurricane Katrina Aftermath Ordeal

This situation developed in a matter of hours. The coming crash may go down in a similar manner. It's easy to get blindsided when you are not suspecting anything. The forces are constantly in play just waiting for opportunities to kill, steal, and destroy. 

The most interesting element about this ordeal was that it was an equal opportunity event. It paid no attention to social class, race, gender, or occupation. When the event came down, you were simply trapped.

Many individuals are concerned about the possible fallout that will transpire after the dollar collapses.

It seems like the areas of concern center around bank closures, ATM outages, store closures, food outages, no water, no electricity, failing toilet facilities, blackouts, roving gangs, heightened crime, no police response, no communications, door to door looting, animal abandonment, night patrols by unknown helicopters, arson, rapes, and murders.

If these situations that I just described seem unrealistic and unbelievable, they are the exact same situations that I, my family, and city residents experienced, starting the day after Hurricane Katrina had hit New Orleans.

It was the end of August 2005; the hurricane had already come through and there were only about two inches of water on the ground. We were completely caught off guard because the actual storm was over.

About three hours later the water started to rise and everyone just figured that the pumping stations were down as usual. Little did we know that at that time nobody was manning the pumping stations because the operators had fled for their lives because the Lake Pontchartrain Levee had breached and certain sections of the city were filling up with water just like a soup bowl. 

We lived in an older type house which had extended steps up around twenty-five feet high. The water rose so fast that after around four hours it was about twenty feet high; it was at the second step from the top and we were stuck permanently. In a matter of about six hours, our lives were plunged into oblivion.

(((Day One)))

We Became Trapped In "20" Feet of Toxic Water With No Possible Way of Escape. That Night Was A Complete Blackout Because There Was No Electricity In Our Division of The City. You Couldn't See Your Hands In Front of Your Face. 

(((Day Two)))

I Secured An Old Battery Operated Analog TV, Which Provided Us With Outside Communication. We Found Out That The Levee Walls To The Lake Had Collapsed and The Entire City Was Flooded.

At This Point In Time, There Was No Phone Service, Because All Cell Towers Were Out Of Commission. This Was The First Day That Looters Started Patroling The City In Boats, Just Like Pirates, Initiating One of The Worst Crime Wave of All Time. Property and All People Were Not Safe. 

New Orleans Already Had One of The Highest Murder Rates In The Country. This Incident Was Like A Catalyst For The Evil To Spread.

(((Day Three)))

It Was Apparent That No Help Was on The Way, So I had The Go Into A Survival Mode of Thinking. We Were About To Run Out of Caned Food Because Everything In The Refrigerator Had Spoiled. Plus We Were About To Run Out of Bottled Water.

(((Day Four)))

At this Point In Time, I Realized That The Individuals Which Were Attempting To Break Into Unoccupied Homes Had Weapons and We Did Not.

Fortunately, I Had Previously Constructed A Hobby Weapon From Old PVC Pipes. Whenever Someone Approached Our Home In A Boat, I Would Become Visible Holding My PVC Weapon, Which Pretty Much Kept Them At Bay. The Below Video Is A Copy of The One That I Had.

This Day Was Very Difficult Because Looters Had Vandalized Most of The Vacant Stores and Appropriated What Goods That Were Left There. In Addition To This They Set One of The Malls on Fire Later In The Day, There Was A Dead Body Which Got Stuck In Front of Our House. The Smell Was Sickening and You Could Not Get Away From It.

This Same Day All Toilets Stopped Working and The Only Way To Flush Them Was To Tie A Rope To A Bucket Then Toss It Over The Side of The Porch Rail To Retrieve Toxic Water, Which Was Used To Pour Down The Toilets.

Also, This Same Day We Ran Out of Can Food and Bottled Water. From This Point on All That We Had To Eat Was A bag of Dried Rice. At This Point in Time, We Did Not Know How Long We Would Last.

(((Day Six)))

This Day Was When Law and Order Broke Down on A Major Scale.

1. The New Orleans Police Chief Requested That Dr. Phil Come Down and Talk With Him and Was Seen Crying on His Shoulder, Saying That No Human Beings Should Have To Go Through This.

2. A Sizable Portion of The New Orleans Police Department Abandoned Their Post and Stole Cars From A Car Lot, Then Drove To Dallas and Tried To Get Hired There To No Avail.

 3. Another Segment of The Police Department Confiscated The Top Floors of A New Orleans Hotel, Then Looted Stores Themselves For Contraband.

4. There Was No Police Protection At The Super Dome and Convention Center Where There Were A Number of Reported Rapes and Murders.

5. Rogue Police Officers With Bandanas Tied Around Their Heads and Homemade Flags Rode Around In Pick Up Trucks Administering Vigilante Justice.

 6. Many Unarmed Men and Women Were Shot Down Without Probable Cause.

7. It Would Be Hard, For Scenarios That Took Place on This Day To Rival Any Imaginative Hollywood Script. 

(((Day Seven)))

Finally Some Men In A Boat Who Came All The Way Down From Shreveport, LA Got Us Out. They Told Us That They Were Told By Local Authorities That They Should Not Attempt To Rescue Anyone Unless They Looked Like They Were on Their Last Leg.

1. This Explained Why When We Saw Government Patrol Boats and We Called Out To Them For Help, They Simply Said That They Would Come Back With Help. However, They Never Returned.

2. The Men Who Rescued Us Took Us To The I-10 Overpass Where People and Animals Had Been Living and Sleeping on The Concrete Highway With No Covering For As Long As Six Days. They Had To Use The Bathroom In Public Because There Was No Place To Go.

THIS SIGHT MADE YOU WONDER HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN IN AMERICA.

WELL, I HAVE A FEELING THAT IT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN AGAIN, ONCE THE CURRENCY CRASHES.

3. "The Creator" Was Looking After Us Because No Longer Than Four Hours After The Men Dropped Us Off National Guard Hellacopters Arrived At The Over Pass and Started Evacuating People To The International Airport.

4. Once At The Airport It looked Like A Scene From Exodus. People Were Being Shipped Off To Different Parts of The Country and No One Knew Where They Were Going Until They Were Placed on Planes. We Stood In Line Here For Ten Hours.

(((Day Eight))) 

Here It Is The Next Morning and We Are Finally Getting on A Plane To Travel To San Antonio, TX. There We Will Be Placed In A Fema Detention Center Which Used To Be An Active Air Force Barracks.

It Is Important To Realize That As An Evacuee Everyone Is Reduced To One Status. This Is Pretty Much How It Will Be Once The Dollar Collapses.

Once We Arrived In San Antonio We Were Ushered Off of The Plane and Force To Line Up While Dogs Examined Our Bags. One Night Club Owner Who Made The Trip Brought The Money From Her Safe But it Was Seized ($15,000).

Before We Got Off The Buses That We Were Placed On, A State Policeman Told Us That If We Signed Out of The Detention Center That We Would Be On Route To, That We Could Not Return To The Camp.

Inside The Facilities There Were Rows of Cots With Bedding Stuff. The Only Problem Was That There Was No Privacy.

There Were About 2000 Outside Toilets For Us So-Called Evacuees To Use. They Had Sheets of Plastic Strung Up outside So People Could Bathe Behind Them. When It was Time to Eat You Simply Went Through The Line and Received A To-Go Box.

(((Day Nine)))

Once We Were Secured In The Camp, I Made The Decision That It Was Time To Return Back To Normal Life. I Was Fortunate Enough To Have My Wallet and Credit Cards With Me, So There Was Nothing Holding Me There, As Was The Case To So Many Others.

I Called A Taxi and Signed Out Of The Camp. I Had The Taxi Take Us To The Best Hotel Suites In San Antonio. Next, I Made Plane Reservations To Baton Rouge, LA, Which Was Where We Decided To Start A New Life. We Spent the Evening At The Hotel and Traveled To Baton Rouge Early The Next Morning.

Upon Arriving In Baton Rouge, Those Who Had Become Completely Homeless Were Place In Toxic Fema Trailers In Fema Camps With Security Guards.

Those Who Had Migrated To Baton Rouge But Had No Trailers Were Placed In Makeshift Fema Detention Centers With Blackwater or National Guardsmen. 

(((Day Eleven))) 

My Family and I Were Able To Secure A Brand New Home, I Received A Brand New Management Job With CVS, and My Daughter Started A New Private School, Where She Earned A Full Scholarship To College.  

(((Day Twelve)))

We Were Able To Survive The Total Calamity Through The Grace of "The Creator"; Many Others Lost Their Lives Through The Ordeal. 

Just As This Happened To My Family and Myself, It Can Just As Easily Have Happen To You.

At this point in time, I am going to end this account of  what has transpired. Regardless of the hardships that we experienced, "The Creator" provided for us as I know that he will through the coming economic crash.

What my family and I went through, I wouldn't wish on anybody, but it is possible to make it as long as you have faith and don't let fear overpower you. There is nothing to fear but fear itself.
