A Glimpse at ChatGPT in Human Resources
A known fact is that artificial intelligence has been a part of our lives for years already. For example, when you finish picking out your items at the supermarket, you can use self-service checkouts. Likewise, when you call a pharmacy to get an update on your prescription status, an automated system answers. More and more job tasks are being replaced by artificial intelligence technologies.
Therefore, how has artificial intelligence become a part of human resources?
Let’s talk about a popular software which is an artificial intelligence chatbot.
ChatGPT
It is used to generate human conversation in written or?spoken?format. This tool is already being used to manage different companies’ most important asset, their employees (the talent). How?
Below, we will give you a glimpse of how ChatGPT can be used in human resources, but before you get too excited, remember that everything has its disadvantages and, like the popular saying, “there’s always a price to pay” (whether literally or metaphorically). ?
Here are three examples, but there are several more.
1.????Screening Candidates During Recruitment
Companies are formulating lists of questions that ChatGPT asks the candidates and later analyzes their answers. The software can provide a report with an overview of each candidate’s strengths and areas of improvement. Curiously, ChatGPT has the capacity to identify attributes about a candidate’s personality from his or her responses to the questions. It has detection features that can pinpoint if a candidate is assertive, genuine, innovative, etc.

2.????Training
In relation to professional development, ChatGPT can:
·??????Schedule training sessions
·??????Send reminders to participants
·??????Create training plans that meet the needs of individual employees
·??????Provide access to resources
·??????Respond to inquiries about seminars and programs
3.????Performance Management
ChatGPT can collect feedback to track employee progress. It can compose performance review templates and also recommend particular language for evaluation forms and/or personalized employee goal plans.
So, the bottom line is that ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence tools can definitely facilitate many human resource tasks. BUT, perfection is impossible. ChatGPT has its limitations and every company should decide what they are willing to potentially sacrifice. (e.g. development costs, emotional intelligence, and domain knowledge, among other things.)
What do you think? Do you foresee integrating ChatGPT into your human resources department in the next couple of months or years?
