Glimmers of Hope

A glimmer is a small moment that sparks joy and/or peace. They are the opposite of?your triggers/stressors.

We tend to focus a lot on our stressors/triggers. What causes our stress, brings up negative?emotions and causes our heart to race.?It is important to know what causes stress but what about asking ourselves what brings us joy and/or peace? These glimmer moments are just as important. Ask yourself:

What cultivates joy and peace? What cultivates a sense of?calm and comfort? Glimmer moments help us to feel joy and hope.?

We have the ability to add glimmer moments into your day by knowing what makes us feel good and safe. Every day set an intention to be mindful of these small moments of joy and hope. For many of us, we are not sure what causes that glimmer.?

Here are a few ways to add some glimmers of hope, joy and peace into your day.

1.Music - listen to music that cultivates a sense of peace and calm. It's different for everyone so take some time to think of music that relaxes you. This can include meditation music or nature sounds.

2. Nature - connecting with nature cultivates mindfulness and happiness but it can also calm us and make us feel connected. Whether it's a walk through the park, going for a hike, a day at the beach or lake, nature gives us many glimmers of?hope and joy.

3. Scents - for many people, they feel a sense of?calm and peace through their nose. Is it the smell of lavender? Or the candle that has cinnamon or vanilla scent?

4. People -?which are the people in your life make you feel supported? at peace? Spend time with the right people. If you have to spend time with people who are toxic for you, try to do something mindful?afterwards to self-soothe, even a few deep breaths or a walk can help.

5. Awe/Wonderment - anytime I'm in awe, I find myself?in a state of wonder and peace. Whether it's the snow-lined streets after a snowstorm, a street lined with beautiful trees or flowers when they just start to bloom and add color to our world.?

6. Home - making your home a space of comfort and peace. Whether it's the whole house or having a Zen spot. A Zen spot is perfect, it's a place in your?home where you can go to feel safe, relax and find peace. It can be a place with a soft cozy rug or chair with soft pillows, blankets, different scents/candles or a good book. You make the zen spot your own.
