1. How would you describe your role and what is it about this job and GLG that keeps you motivated?
In simple terms, the role is to understand your client needs and find the best expertise. It’s highly dynamic. Even though I may have worked with the same client before, no two projects or two clients are the same. It’s an opportunity to learn a lot, generally about different industries. As an example, I now know how the semiconductor and electric vehicle industries operate.
The culture here also motivates me. Leadership is helpful and approachable, helping you with your own goals for your professional journey.
2. What are some of the key transferable skill sets you feel you brought with you and the new ones you have acquired through your GLG experience thus far?
I have always been very detailed oriented, which helped when I was transitioning into this role. Skills I’ve learned include prioritising different things, working smarter not harder, helping your team members, bringing creativity to client requests, and adapting to different projects with different requirements. I’ve also learned how to be an active partner to our clients.
