Glenn Irwin Tops King of the Roads’ Leaderboard after a double win at the North West 200
Greenlight TV’s King of the Roads series continues following an action-packed week of racing at the North West 200 in Northern Ireland. The series, which ranks riders in the main races at each of the six road racing events being televised in 2023, showcases unique motorcycle racing on closed public roads, offering up thrilling challenges for man and machine.
Points were awarded for the two Superbike races on Saturday which saw local superstar Glenn Irwin take his seventh and eighth consecutive NW200 Superbike wins. The Northern Irish rider now tops the King of the Roads leaderboard with 50 points, putting previous leader Mike Browne down to joint second with Michael Dunlop.
After a drama-filled week with the disqualification of FHO Racing, some riders’ chances of winning the 2023 King of the Roads’ title are in doubt following several crashes.
It was a better week though for Alastair Seeley who set a new Superstock lap record on his way to two wins, bringing his total victories at the Triangle circuit to 29.
With 4 events still to go in the 2023 King of the Roads season, there are still plenty of chances for points to be made and proven.?The next event in the series is the Imatra Road Races in Finland on the 1st-2nd?of July.
