GLAZING

GLAZING

Glazing refers to the installation of glass or transparent materials, such as windows, doors, and skylights, in buildings.

It is a very technical procedure requiring high level of attention to details. Here are the variety of glass you can use:

1. Clear Glass - it is transparent and allows for maximum visibility and light transmission. Used in windows and doors throughout a house where unobstructed views and abundant natural light are desired.

2. Obscure Glass - as a textured or frosted appearance, making it translucent. Used in bathroom windows and shower enclosures to maintain privacy.

3. Georgian Wired Glass - consists of clear or obscure glass with wire mesh embedded within it. The wire mesh provides added strength and safety.Used in fire-rated doors and windows, as well as in commercial or industrial settings where impact resistance is needed.

4. Toughened/Tempered Glass - has a smooth, clear appearance. It is highly durable and shatter-resistant, and when it breaks, it forms small, safe fragments. Used in windows and doors where safety is a concern, such as sliding glass doors, balconies, and glass tabletops.

5. Solar Glass - has a slightly tinted or reflective appearance. It is designed to reduce heat gain and block a portion of harmful UV rays from the sun.Used in energy-efficient windows to improve insulation and reduce cooling costs. It is suitable as a facade.

6. Laminated Glass - consists of two or more layers of glass with a clear plastic interlayer. Used in windows and doors where safety, security, and sound insulation are important. It is also used in hurricane-resistant windows.
