The world of 3D display technology is moving toward glasses-free
Visual interfaces are the top priority projects of the tech titans. Why? Because 3D visuals attract everybody. Google's Glass, Microsoft's HoloLens ,?and Facebook's Oculus VR ?are old attractions. If the 3D image can be viewed without any gadget, the display is a?glasses-free 3D , and then it becomes more attractive.
(The above video on glasses-fre 3D is six years old)
The glasses-free 3D display ?technology is better because one can see the 3D image without wearing any glass or head-mounted gadget. It will be a big thing for smartphones, TVs, Tablets, and digital signage.
Glasses-free 3D displays can take the visual experience to a greater height.
Being a researcher of 3D imaging, I am curious about 3D displays. Most of the 3D displays require special viewing glasses.?Glasses-free 3D displays ?don't require any viewing glass. They work on the principle of?autostereoscopy .
3D displays can empower smartphones, TVs and advertisement displays
3D displays have already been introduced in some mobile phones. Who are the major players in the?3D mobile ?arena? Sharp, Samsung, and Motorola made early entries. There are many?3D mobile phones ?in the market now. If you Google and you will get a large number. I found one such 3D smartphone manufactured by?JS Digitech , a specialist company for?glasses-free 3D displays .
Glasses free 3D displays ?are the best fit for smartphones, Tablets, TVs and digital signage
JS Digitech ?manufactures 3D displays based on a proprietary?lenticular ?screen 3D technology that does not require any eyeglasses to view the 3D display. They have 3D smartphones, Tablets, large-sized 3D TVs, and digital signage.
Autostereoscopic 3D displays ?don't require glasses to view
On June 1, 2017, I visited?JS Digitech's ?office in Shanghai. I was not sure what type of 3D experience was waiting for me. I encountered big TV display screens on the walls as I entered the office. I was introduced to Mr.?Zhou (Joe) Fenghua , the Managing Director of?JS Digitech . Mr.?Fenghua ?showed the screens and explained the functionalities.

1 年Hi Debesh. To the best of my knowledge there was an attempt at 3D by Hollywood in the late 1950s where the audience had to wear special glasses. I think "The creature from the black lagoon" was one example. From my own experience, I can recall a scene from "Back to the Future 2" where a shark pops out of a cinema ad to promote a movie! You are working in a fascinating area my friend!
