GLA Environmental Public Benefit Activities Tour

June 5, 2023 is World Environment Day, and the Shenzhen Coastal Environmental Protection Public Benefit Activities Tour organized by GLA Global Logistics Alliance Network, “Go Green with GLA”, has successfully concluded.

This event is a United Nations environmental protection project under the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Agency

The United Nations Environment Programme hopes to use the annual theme of "World Environment Day" to make people active actors in promoting sustainable development, jointly protecting the environment, and providing a beautiful home for all humanity.

Approximately 80000 tons of plastic waste enter the ocean every year

Approximately 1.6 trillion plastic bags are produced every year

Before the event began, President Ms Grace, founder of GLA Global Logistics Alliance Network, warmly welcomed and thanked all participants in this environmental protection event. President Ms Grace?stated that environmental issues have become one of the major challenges facing the world. Climate change, energy shortages, natural disasters and other issues have had a huge impact on humanity. Therefore, under the advocacy of World Environment Day by the United Nations Sustainable Development Programme, we hope to actively respond to the call of the international community and the Chinese government through this event, promote the concept of green logistics, promote low-carbon transportation, reduce waste and energy consumption, and jointly create a betteroe.

This event aims to respond to the call of the United Nations Sustainable Development Programme for World Environment Day, promote the concept of green logistics, and promote sustainable development and environmental protection. GLA prioritizes sustainable and environmentally friendly operations, actively encourages company members and member companies from around the world to adopt sustainable logistics practices, promote low emission transportation methods, and emphasize the importance of reducing waste and carbon emissions. I hope that through this event, we can guide people to take environmental protection actions in their daily lives, protect the environment, and everyone has a responsibly.

The president of the sponsor, Zhang Ping, stated that as logistics entrepreneurs, they are well aware of the importance of environmental protection and are also very concerned about the development of global environmental protection. They will advocate for sustainable development concepts and integrate them into the company's business management to make their own contributions. By participating in this event, we hope to attract more attention and participation, so that more people can understand the importance of environmental protection and work together to create a better planet.

Tan Huiyan, a student representative of the environmental protection and sustainability research team of the School of Fine Arts and Design of Shenzhen University, said that the environmental protection and sustainability research team led by Chen Xiaosui, an associate professor of the School of Fine Arts and Design of Shenzhen University, on Cutting off the Plastic Relationship of the Earth was participating in this activity. The team is currently researching issues related to plastic waste, collecting plastic waste and cases, and finally planning to generate books and magazines with warning and educational significance to promote environmental protection. This event provides the team with the opportunity to experience real-life environmental issues and contribute to environmental protection.

This activity chose two forms of getting close to nature: hiking in the mountains and cleaning the beach. After the leader explained the precautions, the members began to walk through the mountains and forests by the seaside. Along the way, we can see a team of "environmental volunteers" dressed in unified environmental clothing, striding through the countryside.

Along the way, the air was filled with the freshest scent of nature, and sunlight sprinkled on the branches, reflecting mottled shadows. Although the road is not easy, everyone has not given up their determination to move forward. They reached out to each other, climbed the rugged path between the mountains and forests, and took firm steps towards the beach on the muddy road by the river.

After walking for over an hour, I finally saw the outline of the beach. There, the sea is green and the waves are beating against the shore. However, the beach is littered with numerous artificial waste.

In the scorching weather, the members bravely completed the beach cleaning work along the coastline.

Our?members picked up the garbage scattered on the beach together. At the same time, team members also deeply realized the harm of garbage to the environment and how humans should protect our common home. This event has made everyone feel the power of cooperation, stimulated their sense of responsibility to protect the environment, and laid a solid foundation for future environmental protection undertakings.

Through their efforts, the coastline has become clean and tidy, once again presenting the beautiful scenery and natural scenery it should have been.

Restaurant Meeting

After the beach cleaning activity on the coastline, Ms Grace, founder of GLA Global Logistics Alliance Network, Chen Xiaosui, associate professor of the environmental sustainability research team of the School of Fine Arts and Design of Shenzhen University, and other enterprise members who participated in the activity moved to the restaurant first, and further discussed the current situation of environmental issues.

Chen Xiaosui, associate professor of the environmental protection and sustainable research team of the School of Fine Arts and Design of Shenzhen University, introduced the research achievements of the research team in sustainable design, including practical experience in promoting low-carbon lifestyle, building Sustainable city and promoting circular economy. Ms. Grace, founder of GLA Global Logistics Alliance Network, shared GLA's development trends in sustainable development.

GLA will prioritize a green logistics network for sustainable and environmentally friendly operations in the future, and actively encourage company members and enterprises around the world to adopt sustainable logistics practices, promote low emission transportation methods, and emphasize the importance of reducing waste and carbon emissions. GLA is an active promoter and practitioner of environmental protection.

Beach Activities

After completing the garbage disposal work along the coastline, GLA, as the organizer of this event, planned volleyball and frisbee activities for the members. As two very popular activities, they can help members relax physically and mentally, alleviate fatigue, and also promote communication between each other, enhancing team cohesion.

To alleviate the fatigue that members may feel after cleaning the garbage on the coastline. Therefore, as the organizer of GLA Global Logistics Alliance Network, in order to provide everyone with sufficient rest and relaxation, we have prepared a leisure area in advance, prepared many summer drinks and fruits, as well as some snacks.

Member feelings

Jephte (member of the GLA Environmental Public Welfare Project Team): A small environmental activity does not necessarily mean the completion of global environmental protection work. There are still millions of marine garbage that have not been cleared, and thousands of cubic meters of seawater are still being polluted. I am very grateful for this opportunity to take practical actions for a positive impact.

Sun (member of the GLA Environmental Protection Public Welfare Project Team): At the beginning of the event, my understanding of environmental protection concepts was not deep enough, and I was unable to understand the enormous impact of marine debris on the marine environment and ecological environment. It is a great honor and pride to work with the international team GLA to complete an environmentally friendly activity.

I saw a smile on everyone's face that was different from the previous group building activities. What appeared on everyone's faces was more of a sense of achievement after completing environmental protection work, a sense of exhilaration that was exhilarating despite being exhausted

Zemel (a participating member of GLA Environmental Public Welfare Bank): After witnessing the huge difference between before and after garbage cleaning, I deeply feel the significant impact of small actions. Perhaps this is just a small matter done by every member of GLA's family, but when this matter is brought to the attention of the whole China and the world, it will form a virtuous cycle of environmental protection from individuals, organizations, and society as a whole, promoting the development of the entire society towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly direction.

Rita (a participating member of GLA Environmental Charity): Carrying black garbage bags, we shuttle on the beach, bending figures exposed to the scorching sun, and the occasional gusts of sea breeze, like the praise of future green time travelers to us. Sweat overlaps with shadow, but one cannot feel any fatigue.

Claire (a participating member of GLA Environmental Charity): As a member of society, we should be aware that our actions will directly or indirectly affect the surrounding environment and human survival. Therefore, we need to actively take action, starting from ourselves, reducing waste and pollution, promoting the concept of sustainable development, and jointly building a beautiful home.
