So I did a thing…

A thing I haven’t been this excited about in quite some time.

I’m partnering with a world-class ed-tech company here in Haifa to build…

Courses (and more impressively, an academy) based on my book, Be Your Own Commander-in-Chief.

When we talk about a platform, an academy with a few different courses serving tens of thousands (and eventually, millions, G-d willing) of students is…

THE DREAM. MY dream, but also the dream of so many other authors.

I’m a member of a number of top authors and thought leaders’ groups like Dorie Clark’s Recognized Experts group, which is chock full of authors who have put their heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into their books…

Only to find them selling a few hundred copies, but sometimes thousands.

All authors know that books aren’t what makes money, but rather courses.

And NO, if you build it, they won’t magically come.

Not only that, but only <gulp> 3% of learners actually finish a course.

Tragic, but also avoidable.

Sure, there’s product-market fit to consider like with any business, plus expert marketing and of course, sales.

But after proof-of-concept with one course, imagine building an entire ACADEMY for your dream clients.

Maybe it’s a corporate play, maybe it’s B2C.

But let’s be frank…

Making a course generally takes HUNDREDS OF HOURS, including script writing, shooting, editing, post-production.

Bad enough, but then there’s also the massive expense.

I was quoted by THE TOP leadership book platform in the world to create a course for a cool… $60K..?!?! And, I’d take home just 50% of the proceeds.

Even if I had it lying around, how could I justify such an expense with such equity?

Yeah, real WTF.

THIS is why so many authors get stuck and never build the course, never mind an academy.

Back to the company here in Haifa.

They’re world-class course and academy builders, for clients no less high-profile than Israeli’s Economic Ministry and the Israeli Medical Association.

We were introduced, spoke a couple months ago and I shamelessly expressed my vision for… courses created at scale using AI, complete with text-to-video, voice and video avatars of myself.

So I wouldn’t have to spend all that time or money on camera.

I was truly shocked when they said… we already have that technology.

WHAT?! I mean, I haven’t seen anyone doing this quite yet, anywhere, and I’m always looking.

I mean, to be fair, I’ve been tinkering for a couple years with ChatGPT, Perplexity, Descript, Synthesia and other tools with all the different elements of this process.

Text to video, video and voice avatars, curriculum and lesson creation, translation into other languages, even audio book creation using AI.

Every time I managed, there was either a financing issue (high subscription costs), inability to integrate with the other pieces, lack of time to sit for hours and days and keep tinkering.

Bottom line, we decided to work together.

They’ll be helping me build my course (FINALLY!) and I fully intend to create that academy with time.

What’s involved? Believe me, I asked a LOT of questions

10-20 hours, rather than hundreds. Already a HUGE win.

There IS a human in the loop, a professional course architect to help throughout the process.

No AI is foolproof, certainly not yet. Need that help from an actual human who knows what he/she is doing

And the cost?

Well, let’s say it’s a very small fraction of that $60K. And I’ll have the thing up and running in a few days after starting.

DAMN, SERIOUSLY?!

Yeah, seriously.

In fact, we went further.

I know there’s a massive market opportunity here, because I talk to authors and coaches, consultants and thought leaders all the time.

So, we’re going to build this together, with G-d’s help.
