#GivingTuesday: Animal Shelters in Need of Help

Hello?#LinkedIn?Fam! For?#GivingTuesday2024, I recommend two animal rescue movements desperately needing support.?

Galery_MyCats (Instagram)

Recently losing her mother, Indonesian shelter Galery_MyCats is now being pressured to buy the house she's lived in all her life.?

As of today, the person behind the account only has two weeks before she and the more than one hundred cats she rescued may become homeless. You can help her by donating some funds so she can buy the house in installments, continue to save animals, and keep those she saves at home.?

Here is a breakdown of what she needs and an explanation of how she ended up in this situation:?

I have to pay for the cat house by February 1, 2024. If I don't comply, 150 cats will become homeless

?? This house is not ours, and for years, we lived in it for free because it is the house of a distant relative of my mother. Still, on December 1, 2023, my mother passed away/died, so now the owner of the house is asking me to buy this house, and if I can't afford the 150 cats, I will become homeless.

? Pay the cost of the cat house

- I only have until January 31, 2024, to pay at least 50% of the house price; if I don't, 150 cats will be homeless.

- The price of the cat house is $22,000

- Need $8,100 to make 50% installments.

- The remaining 50% must be paid in March 2024

? Nala Vet Bills $1,000 (The mother cat who was hit by a car was pregnant and had a broken jaw and a protruding eyeball)

? Please Donate Cat food and I Need Another $400

? Koci Vet Bills and FIP Treatment $1,500

? I Need Another $1,300

You may donate food and treatment for the cats through?this link?on PayPal and through their?GoFundMe?to buy the house. As of today, they've secured $4000 and need $21,000.?You may also contact Galery_MyCats through this link.

Vucjak Shelter (Instagram)?

Currently, Vucjak Shelter needs water and food. Dejan Gacic and his late mother, Svetlana, started feeding stray dogs in Cumic, Serbia, more than 20 years ago. In 1997, Dejan and Svetlana established Vucjak Shelter. After his mother's passing, Dejan continued running the shelter independently. He started with a small shelter; however, the number of dogs has increased to more than a thousand over the years.

Today, the shelter is home to more than 1000 dogs, cats, and even several wild animals—many of which were abandoned in front of the shelter or were found injured on the streets. The shelter aims to provide a haven for unwanted, abandoned, injured animals in Cumic, near Kragujevac, Serbia. With more than 1000 animals to care for,?the shelter is experiencing increased difficulty in covering bills and fundraising for additional projects?such as the construction of winter shelter buildings and dog houses. The dogs live in different packs outside in a big space and huddle in wooden dog houses during the evening to stay warm.

You may donate through this?link?or become a monthly donor for as low as $1 through this link. ?You can know more about Vucjak through their website https://www.vucjakshelter.org/.

For?#GivingTuesday, I want to share the animal organizations I support in hopes that this can gain #traction and allow these shelters to seek help. You can message me through LinkedIn if you know any animal shelters or movements needing a #b00st. For now, these are the people I know who currently need help.?
