#GivingTuesday: ABW Appliances Reflects
This #GivingTuesday, ABW takes a moment to reflect on the community initiatives we’ve been fortunate to support over the past year.
Today, Steven Nelson from our Builder Development Group and our VP of Sales, Kim Calavas, proudly attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Peace House—a beautiful, two-story, three-bedroom home created for Good Shepherd, a non-profit organization. This impactful project came to life through the collaboration of ABW, HomeAid National Capital Region, and Knutson Companies, with ABW proudly contributing by donating 100% of the appliances.
In November, we continued our tradition of contributing to Capital Food Fight by providing appliances for the event, which raised over $900,000 to benefit DC Central Kitchen programs.
We had the opportunity to bring back Kelly’s Cookie Challenge, a charity cookie bake-off that helped raise $5,000 for the winning charity and $1,000 for each of the other participating organizations.
We also deepened our partnership with Community Forklift , a local nonprofit, through ongoing appliance donations.
Another highlight was supporting Arris, a Design Studio and Educator Support Collaborative in creating a refreshed teacher lounge for Mary Ann Winterling Elementary School by donating appliances.
These efforts represent just a few of the ways we’ve sought to give back and strengthen our communities.
